I'm still betting that CTU was only "publicly" dismantled and that it still operates under the curtain.

He says "Your own daughter wants nothing to do with you, Teri's dead, Audrey Raines, Mi..."
And then Jack cuts him off. It almost sounds like he's going to say "Milo."

The explanation given by Tony about his demise still doesn't make sense. Team Meethos thought they could get to Tony after Michelle was killed, so a mere half a day later they've infiltrated CTU and waited for their opportunity to grab Tony? Does that mean Christopher Henderson was part of Team Meethos? The interrogator who brought in all those chemicals?

Just watching the episode right now and noticed that. So now where do Presidents Bartlett and Santos fit in in the presidential craziness of the 24 universe!?!
Well I'm late in the discussion again but I did get to see the two day premire and wow I thought it was great considering I was going in with skepticism. I'm digging Cherry Jones as the first female President Allison Taylor! Annie Wersching as Renee Walker is hot, she got played by Jack, I wonder if she has some kind of supressed crush on Jack or not? The way Vicki Vale did on Batman in the first Tim Burton Batman movie...it seemed that way at times. The CTU rouge group seems interesting, I thought Jack was going to swear when Bill said it's just us when Jack asked how many are there. Chloe looks like she's relunctant to be there and her morality level is slowly being pushed by Bill...next week is going to be good.
This is VERY fun so far. It's SO refreshing to get out of CTU headquarters. We still get the office hijinks, but with Janis & Sean, who have actual personalities. And we get our good guys out of their stiff costumes and into real person clothes, and they seem to relax and become more human as a result. With the 4 Musketeers running rogue, no more Chappelle-esque characters slamming doors in their faces keeping them from doing The Right Thing (TM).
The dueling hackers scene between Janis & Chloe was the first time I think I've actually really liked Chloe, though I have a few seasons yet to watch, so she may grow on me more as I get caught up.
Overall, there is little I've seen that I haven't liked. The only element that strikes me as superfluous is the First Gentleman's plot, but it seems to be weaving itself into the main story fairly soon. I disagree with the sentiment above that things are moving too fast. I'm excited that, without CTU, there isn't the drag of interpersonal conflict on the plot that always bugged me before. "We're in the middle of a national crisis, and you want to discuss the relationship NOW?!?!"
