All of his roles have never disappointed me and his intense angryness that he is renowned for in real life actually bleeds into the fictional roles that he plays.

Well Curtis Hanson did say that Crowe was the actor who was always in his mind for Bud White because he was so very physical. It's the combination of his acting capability and that physicality that makes Crowe's characters so watchable (with the exception of a Beautiful Mind).

Tom Cruise is a complete flake, so bad of one his recent antics have retroactively sullied his past performances.

But I will say he was fucking brilliant in Tropic Thunder.

I haven't been a fan of Tom Cruise since "Taps."

Yeah, he's a good actor, but seems a...well, you're right, a flake.

I never was a fan of Fred MacMurray ("My Three Sons") after hearing that he insisted that all of his scenes be filmed on the same day so he could take the rest of the week off. Right, who cares about what anyone else wants.

I remember reading that William Frawley (Fred Mertz on "I Love Lucy") was actually quite a drunk, but was offered the role on the provision that he would never come to the set drunk. And he never did. I guess that's more liking the actor more than the role. And that's unlike Kelsey Grammar, who's drug abuse resulted in production of the whole show ("Fraiser") being shut down--which affected the cast and the entire crew. We're taking easily 50+ people not working (and not having income) because the star of the show had to have his drugs.
