A Glimpse of Your Room (Post Your Pics)

Hi, folks. It's been a long time since we last had a "room picture thread." Everyone is welcome to post pictures of his/her room (or your favorite room in your home).

My family and I moved to a new house at the end of November, and we couldn't be happier. After a lot of packing, unpacking, organizing, and home improvements, I'm glad to say I'm all settled in.

My bedroom is not just a rest or sleep area. It's my sanctuary, my recreation area, mini-gym, library, and home office. ;) Since I don't know how to shrink photos without going over the size/pixel limit of this forum, I've just posted some links below. Welcome to my humble abode ...

Elliptical Machine and Computer Workstation

A view of my desktop - Dell XPS and Accessories

My Entertainment Hub - Philips* 42-inch LCD HDTV, Playstation 3, DVDs, books.

Entertainment Center

Sleeping Area

Wall Calendar and Decor

Bookshelf 2

Correction: *1020p LCD TV

While a few of the systems have changed a little over the last few years, the basic look of the room is the same... this is where I spend the better part of most days:

And this is a generalized floor plan of the room (which is more up to date than the picture... but not by much).

My room: a bed, a dresser, and 4 laundry baskets that are overflowing with dirty clothes.

You'll forgive me if I don't jump to grab my camera.

Thats the only pic I have...

...of anywhere in my place and thats before I filled the blank wall with a collection of disorginised notes surrounding event posters.

I'm barely seen anywhere else in the house - that has my laptops and I moved everything I need there so I can work relatively happy. From there I have DVD's/videos on the left, then the fireplace, TV and more videos and opposite that my barely used, ever so lonely couch.

Don't have any recent but these are from 2006 when we moved into this house. The layout is the same but some stuff is different. It's a small room but for a study it isn't too bad.

From the door inwards

The pirate ship is gone now in favour of using the top to store random items.

The dodgy bed

The worst bed in the histroy of man if you are tall. It has a bar at the foot and it shits me the few times I have to sleep on it. I don't sleep in this room, my room is across the hall. Those are SG1 DVDs on the bed, it was for another pic.

Book case

Books that I sometimes read, mostly Star Trek and Star Wars. The bulk of my book collection is stored in books.

Computer

My computer, Rachel. She has served me since 2003. These days the monitor is different and the desk is organised different but pretty much the same general layout.

^ WHat is that very elaborate looking coat with all the pockets?

I think it's actually a tac vest, which has piqued my curiosity as well!

You'd be right.

I was billed as 'Captain Tyler' as an in-joke and I impulse bought that and a few other things going with a Stargate theme for a while. I've only got one pic of it in use (here) at a Charity gig, but there was only about 30 employees there. It's since been used for one other show and spends most of it's time olding cigarettes and snacks.

 That's quite good actually, a storage area for everything you need whilst at your computer .

Your rooms are all packed to the max! It makes my room look downright empty.

The bed and dresser from the closet area

The entrance from the bed

The desk area from the bed, with my cat looking freaked out

The closet area from the window (the door leads to a bathroom)

The desk area from the closet area

All of my lovely floor space (it looks even bigger in person!)

And to make up for all of that space in my bedroom we have the itty bitty but oh so cute kitchen (my other favorite room in the apartment):

And because I'm feeling extra generous, the not-so-exciting view from our balcony:

ETA: And for those of you worried about my lack of media in the bedroom, don't fret, it's all in the living room. That's where the bigger TV, cable, desktop, and 4 game systems are.

I mostly use a laptop though, either on the couch or the bed (I like to stay comfy).

^ Lovely house! Looks, modern, spacious and cosy all at the same time. The creams and whites look so soothing. There must be very few of you living there, or else that carpet would be difficult to live with! And what I wouldn't give for an en-suite! As to your balcony, I envy it - parking spaces come at an extremely costly premium where I live, never mind what the view looks like. Difficult for most Americans to imagine I know, but amongst ancient architecture, the roads are narrow and weren't really designed with motor cars and individual parking in mind. :(

Great taste in any case! I love how every last detail is taken care of, in that, even your bin matches your bed sheets! :D

OK, I'll play. (But you have to excuse the crappy pictures; I only have a camera because a friend was about to throw it away.)

Notable appearances in this image: My video-switch (inputs from DVD player, PC and: ) a VHS recorder and a typewriter

Gosh, thanks. :D Yeah, the color matching in my room would be due to my neurotic OCD tendencies. I'm very clean and love the color purple!

We didn't get a choice of the wall colors, they were done by the landlord, but we like them. They are a peach type color that looks very smooth.

My bedroom is much bigger than ones I've lived in previously because I have the master bedroom all to myself. It's a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment that I share with my boyfriend. We each have our own rooms. And since I've dreamed of having a bedroom connected to a bathroom for years (exciting dreams, I know) he was kind enough to let me have it! I had more furniture than him anyway.

Parking is actually pretty bad in this city and at most apartment complexes here you only get one assigned spot or sometimes zero. This complex is on the outskirts of town so it has a bigger lot and unlimited parking (and it's pretty much never full!).

It's kind of small in here, but cozy (Shimmy is watching birds on the feeder :) )

^ Since the room has what appears to be fitted wood bunk beds, I suspect it's supposed to have been a kids bedroom initially... in any case, great and imaginative use of space. God knows how you managed to find beds and and desks that fit so very exactly without paying an absolute fortune.
