Nottingham has a "wee" problem...

People should ignore signs telling them that it is legal to urinate in certain public places in Nottingham, the city council said.
The signs, which were put up by pranksters in and around Nottingham, are designed to look official.
They feature a toilet sign and include the words: "Public Urination Permitted After 7.30pm". Nottingham City Council is now urging the public to ignore the notices as it sets about removing them.

:bolian: Now that's what I call a comedy prank.

The City Council don't need to worry.

The Nottingham public already ignore the laws telling them NOT to urinate in public at night. :D

Here it's only permitted in the breakdown lane between 4pm and 6pm. :(

I wish I could get hold of one of those signs.... as a souvenir of course. [Of course  - everyone]

I might even hang it up in front of my neighbour's front door... as a joke of course. [Of course  - everyone again]. On the other hand it would piss them off no end. :bolian:

The sad thing about this story is that, given its high profile exposure, it's unlikely now to appear in Victor Lewis-Smith's "Funny Old World" column in Private Eye... :(

I'll never forget Glasgows brief flirtation with urinals in the street which caused a homeless gentleman to ask me 'Where does the woman pee?'

Got a hint of Banksy about it. Does he still do stuff like this?

Banksy was more of this sort of artist:

Errrm, civilised people who don't want to live in a hole?

What about after 3:30am when walking home from the bar after a good night?

Not that I've ever done this of course, purely academic. :shifty:
I usually pee next to my car before I drive home.

If you're a taxi driver, and it's your rear wheel you're peeing on, perfectly legal here.
A driver of a Hackney Carriage may relieve himself on the rear axle of his vehicle, in one of our stranger old laws which is actually non-fictional (unlike that enduring rubbish about a pregnant woman being able to pee in a policeman's helmet).

Otherwise, sadly, public urination is worth an £80 penalty notice.

Interesting how you just happen to know the fine for that particular infraction. :D
