Enterprise Holidays

commodore64

Vice Admiral
Admiral
If there was an episode that showed the crew having Christmas and other holidays, what would happen? What would each character do? What traditions would they honor? What religion, if one, do you think the characters are. Who might be most religious?

And happy holidays!

I'd love to see Archer as a Jewish captain. Why? Never been done. Yes, I know Shatner is Jewish, but Kirk never struck me as such (Omega Glory). It'd be interesting to have him and T'Pol discuss human religion. I think they did a nice job of touching on it in The Forge. T'Pol would think religion was illogical and perhaps talk to all the different characters about their beliefs.

I'd think Hoshi would put together the crew holiday party and that Reed would grumble about it, but the Englishman would wax poetic about the Christmas he most enjoyed as a child.

Travis would talk about what boomers do, maybe chatting about how his dad moved Christmas trees in his cargo to a colonized planet and how he and his brother hooked up green and red lighting to display on the outside of their father's vessel.

Trip, I think, would try to encourage Phlox to play Santa, but would eventually have to take the task on himself. I think they'd also have an interesting discussion about a Denobulan version of Santa, except their Santa would be part of a vertility festival. (Trip would then correct the guy that really, the Denobulan Santa and the human one were nothing alike.)

What I would want to know is if Santa Claus existed on other planets...the same as ours, and not just another version. Imagine if Phlox was asked to play Santa as you suggested, and he said something like, "my grandfather played a great Santa when I was a kid." Maybe the whole issue of whether Santa is real or not would be reborn. Imagine if Santa didn't just deliver presents to the children of Earth, but all over the galaxy!

I don't know - Vulcans are very spiritual/religious. The Other. Priestesses. Kohlinahr. The preservation of Katras. "Damned Vulcan Mysticism." ;)

I think it would be awesome and very much in keeping with Roddenberry's vision if one of the bridge crew (Reed, maybe) was Muslim.
