Ocean's films

Ocean's Eleven was good though it had two huge errors.

1) There is no way that the fake SWAT team could've carried out 160 million dollars in cash. IIRC, it would've weighed more than 3,000 lbs.

2) There is no way shown in the movie that Ocean's Eleven couldn't moved the six massive money bags full of flyers for hookers down to the vault.

Ocean's Twelve and Thirteen were garbage.

Eleven is a classic. I think it's one of the few remake that beats up the original. A very good casting and a very cool way to show how thieves can succeed.

Twelve was a bit of a let down. I think my expectations were too high... and I'm not a fan of Catherine Zeta-Jones, so it didn't help.

Thirteen was way over my expectations. Al Pacino and George Clooney in the same screen is just terrific.

I got the three at home on DVD. I consider Eleven and Thirteen as classics !

I'm sorry, do you mean "could have moved..."? Otherwise, I don't follow you.

But if that is what you mean, I think within the frame work of these movies, nit picking that is missing the point. Pretty much everything shown is impossible. I mean, they stole a giant electromagnetic pulse bomb, and you're worried how they got the flyers in the vault!?!

I love Ocean's Eleven. It's just one of the coolest and most enjoyable movies I've ever seen. Thanks largely to the cast and Soderbergh's beautiful direction and style.

Ocean's Twelve was a real letdown in my view. Almost the entire sequence of Roberts passing off as Roberts was embarrassing and cringe worthy IMHO. It's a shame because I thought it was really cool Willis was starring in this. But unfortunately, he's in all of those uncomfortable scenes.
I'll also say that I didn't much like the holo device they were using. Not only was it hard to swallow in terms of it actually working but the effects just looked very, very poor, I think.
However, the biggest drawback with this one, as far as I felt, anyway, was that it didn't feel like a team effort anymore, not like everyone was really needed. That was one of 11's strongest points, I think. It was all about the team. Here, you've got most of them sitting in a cell for most of the movie (that's how I remember it anyway).

Ocean's Thirteen is a film I really, really enjoy. I think it recaptures some of the magic of the first one, has some very nice moments of its own and just manages to be very, very entertaining most of the time. Also, the team is far more tangible again IMHO.

Love them all. Disagree with the Roberts as Roberts bit being embarrassing. I thought the idea was freakin' inspired, and something of a tribute to the original Rat Pack, and other movies of that era. I can recall more than one movie where a character portrayed by Sinatra was described as "Strongly resembling Frank Sinatra".

I almost turned OCEAN'S 11 off when it got to Brad Pitt teaching WB stars poker...that early. But stuck it out, finding the film semi-watchable.

For some reason i saw OCEAN'S 12 at a second run theater and found it semi-watchable. I like Andy Garcia hunting them down. The serious Zeta-Jones subplot was lame...oh, we need a love interest for Pitt's character. Who gives a shit, it's a heist film! Not loving the Julia Roberts character as herself. But Bruce Willis should've appeared...as HUDSON HAWK. That would've been awesome.

OCEAN'S 13, I think I enjoyed most of all. No Julia Roberts. No Zeta-Jones.

I'm looking forward to OCEAN'S 69 (No, it's not a porno.)

Ocean's 11 is a great movie. Love it.

Ocean's 12 watchable. Once.

I agree. I loved the Roberts as Roberts.

What's funny is that the original Ocean's 11 was just an excuse for famous people to hang out and drink while making a cheap movie that's really only about making them look cool on screen. And that's not what Soderbergh and Clooney wanted to do when they remade it.

Yet that's what they do for Ocean's Twelve.

Ocenas Eleven is pretty clutch. Not the greatest movie in the world, but it does what it's supposed to do very well.

Never saw the other two.

Ocean's Eleven is a classic. Twelve is just terrible. Thirteen is a marked improvement, although the earthquake drill was ridiculous.

No they made an expensive movie that was only about making them look cool on screen.;)

11 was a decent example of well made style over substance fluff. Watchable but there's really nothing there.

12 was terrible. Roberts as Roberts was so incredibly bad that it's blocked any memories I have about the rest of the movie.

13--I couldn't be bothered.

I agree with most here. I enjoyed 11, thought 12 was so dire I never bothered watching the last offering.

I think they're all fantastic, as well.

It's been fun talking with you.

Lulz, yeah, I had the feeling there wasn't much one could say in response to that.

I guess we could talk about how awesome the music in those films is...

One of my favorite scenes in terms of the music and how it's shot is the fountain scene at the end of Ocean's Eleven. Just a beautiful, beautiful moment, really.
