Harry in The Disease

Lucy of Nine

Commander
Red Shirt
When he's talking to the alien he's been getting jiggy with, on the viewscreen, and they are talking about how the sex is really different and Harry says the birds and the bee's would be confused... I was like ewwwwwwwww what on earth? Does that mean she has a cough cough... you know what? LOL... Harry! Nooo I expected more of you! Ewww!:wtf:

While I'm on this episode, I have to say the end was lovely, with Harry telling Kathryn he'd grown up over the last 5 years and wasnt the perfect officer anymore. That was a nice moment, very mum and son. And when Seven says to him 'get well soon', that was a great moment too...

I thought it was a great ep with many interesting elements. Yes good to see Harry be a little dangerous and take risks.

As to the sex.. well obviously he liked it, whatever it is. It's all open for speculation.

And I'll add here that I really like Harry Kim, much better than Paris. Timeless is my favorite VOY ep and we see some very interesting Harry developments there.

Actually I thought that was a pretty subtle way of getting across on a family-rated show the fact that sex with an alien would be different.

And I don't think she had a cough. It wasn't that kind of disease the show was referring to (not the Intergalactic Clap either).

I saw this episode before I saw the American ad on American TV, which some one dubbed onto VHS and then posted over seas to me...

"LUST IN SPACE!!!!"

I shit myself laughing.

The old farts from Cocoon got more Jiggy with it.

How hot was a young Jessica Tandy?

I don't remember the conversation at the end, but it sounds like Kim is describing the further degenerative aftereffects of his space clap that he's going to be less and less perfect as the month idle on until he's barely a cognizant as monkey.

Although it has to be a help in the middle of the night that he doesn't have to turn the light on to get his stream somewhere near the toilet bowl. Wow. That sounds useful. How does one get iridescent genitals in real life?

Well... For about $30 worth of Radio-Shack parts and soldering skills you could rig up a min-LED and battery pack. Getting installed... Hm. I don't know if that's covered by insurance. Maybe in Europe?

First of all, I'm SLOWLY making my way through rewatching the series, and I finally got to this episode!

I remember when I first saw this episode on t.v., I thought, "whoa, harry's a pimp!"

But now as I watch it as an older, young man, I think, "Wow, Harry is such a bitch." Tal was def wearing the pants...

So as for Tal possibly having a Varro equivalent of an oscar-mayer, I might believe it, but I highly doubt it. With the white flashes I would think there would be some kinda chemical secretion/fluid swapping of sorts as opposed to the typical penetrate-and-deposit... but whatever.

Also, the best bit of dialogue is from this episode!

Paris: I GIVE UP!
Chakotay: After only two minutes? (To Tuvok) How do you do it?!
Tuvok: Simple; I lwait until his own illogic overwhelms him.

he's a real freakasaurus.

Sarah Silverman must have been like a tied up velociraptor trying to behave within the expectations of... I understand that Tim Russ sticky tapped a hundren polaroids of his ass in one of the girls trailors... Mulgrew or Dawson. Wonderful practical joker it wuold seem. :)

Kim. Kimp. Pimp. Gimp.

It's a progresion.

It was part of his practical joke war with Mulgrew. OT but details can be found here:

OMG. I'd heard about some of those over the years, but a couple of those were new to me. And I had no idea just how real the cast's reaction was in Waking Moments! :guffaw:

I'd forgotten how funny Tuvok's line was then.

The episode didn't do much for me. However, I did enjoy Kate Mulgrews performance. And thought the scene where Janeway and Harry leave the briefing room, cross the bridge and enter the ready room all in one take was well done.
