Going back to the lager argument... yes, I'm a prick, I know... you're all idiots. Why did no one bring up the ingredients in lagers and ales?
What Tachyon drinks is ale, beer brewed with top-fermenting yeast. Lager is brewed with yeast that ferments at the bottom. Aside from a few other ingredient changes--different types of barley used, different hops--there's no difference between making the "different" drinks. Saying lager is not beer is like saying that red wine is not wine because it uses a different kind of grape than white wine.
And this is actually the first time I've heard ale referred to as beer and not lager. I've heard the reverse before. An old New Yorker article from the late 40s describes a bar as having two kinds of Montreal beer and one Montreal ale.
Anyway, registering on the Budweiser thing, I actually don't mind Bud, but that may have something to do with that I rarely have it sober. In fact, I'm positive it has to do with the fact I rarely have it sober.
