Maybe Republicans Are Starting To Make A Comeback

I don't give a flying rip about wire tapping.

To me if you have nothing to hide then why be concerned.

Warrantless wiretapping itself is less concerning than is the unconstitutionality of the action. If you believe that warantless wiretapping should be legal, then you should seek to change the Constitution to make it so, not disregard the Constitution or seek to override it with tortured logic because you disagree with it.

How do you know what reasoning Al Queda uses to justify their actions?

Besides, I don't see the U.S. deliberately trying to kill innocent civilians.

And privacy isn't mentioned in the U.S. Constitution.

Finally,

Jefferson was just a man like the rest of us. He had biases, preconceived notions, and bad ideas just like anyone.

His name means nothing to me.

Nah.

Amending the constitution is too cumbersome a process.

Lots of Al Queda in Arkansas?

Do you care what the Constitution says or respect it as our highest law?

You're a rather dangerous individual. I hope for the sake of liberty, there are no members of Congress who think as you do, or freedom will fall to tyranny.

That's the point, Mr. History.

A flawed document written by a group of slaveowners who had an overwrought fear of the British and European power politics in general.

It isn't the Bible.

For what its worth

Seriously, get this:

Part of the yearly school bus drivers training this year was in how to thwart terrorist attacks on our buses.

They produced a video and everything.

We can't get a couple of students to keep their feet out of the aisle but we're supposed to stop a Crimson Jihad assault cold...........

So what you're saying is that you hate America and all that it was built upon ya?

There was an America before the Constitution.

There will be one should be choose to replace it with something better.

I love the United States of America.

But the USA and the U.S. Constitution are not one and the same.

Americans should see it as a document much the same as a city charter.

Not like a Holy Book.

:wtf:

Did you...

:wtf:

How can...

:wtf:

Seriously man.

What.

The.

Fuck.

That's the antithesis of the foundations this country was built on. It doesn't matter you've nothing to hide, you still shouldn't stand for this kind of shit.

Can gays get married then?

Personally, I would prefer they not be allowed to.

Although I suppose common law marriages based on prolonged cohabitation would be reasonable.

But marriage is not a "right" by any stretch of the imagination.

Actually, one can make the strong argument that the

1) Constitution being difficult to change

&

2) Constitution being rather vague on many issues

means that the Constitution was INTENDED to be stretched and twisted as time passes to meet the needs of a changing nation.

This stuff is always cyclical. Great Divine History Teacher, let thou patrons know political power waxes and wanes, and the two party system is the most stable system known (which means it's not going one party any time soon, unless that nuke on the horizon hits its target) :klingon:
