Actually, it's Penny who isn't working right.
Wow, I couldn't disagree more!
Sparring with Sheldon raises the question of why she bothers.
Because Sheldon is much smarter than Penny in terms of academics, but she knows so much more about him in the "real world" and it's an interesting interaction!
And Howard chanting "One of Us! One of Us!" should have driven her screaming out the door, never to return.
Doubt she got the allusion, but why would she run out the door? Maybe at first it would have... but lets face it, Penny cares about all 4 of the guys. They are her friends.

We may enjoy Penny vs. Sheldon but a real Penny wouldn't. Penny's obsession with World of Warcraft was not convincing, and that was a weaker episode. Penny acting sometimes like a friend because the show requires it so that we can watch the fireworks is farcical. I enjoy a farce myself, which is why I enjoy the show. But it is very hard to keep a farce fresh.

I hate to say this but Chuck Lorre's shows tend to use characters that are a bit one trick and one dimensional. Because of that, his shows tend loose their "farce freshness" in the second or third season. Look at "Dharma & Greg". The first two seasons are hilarious but the show bottomed out after that. I think the only show of his that hasn't done that is "Two and a Half, Men" but that show is built around a child that is constantly changing and a fleet of woman characters that pop in and out. It has stayed fresh because it didn't wear out its premise or the characters.

But that being said, I hope this show doesn't fall into that slump. With its comedy so nicely written, it would be sad for it to fall victim to rigid unchanging one dimensional characters.

As for the episode... I missed it. I have been working so much recently that tends to happen more often than not. At least I will have a few episodes to look forward to during the rerun slump.

I agree. Sara Rue's character and Leonard just don't work together. There's no connection (good OR bad), and I'm just not interested in their relationship at all.

Lorre apparently keeps trying to introduce a "second woman" into the formula, but for me it hasn't worked with Sara Rue OR Sara Gilbert.

At least not yet.

I say BRING BACK SHELDON'S TWIN SISTER and have her become best friends with Penny! Or even better, have her become the university BOSS of all four guys. Can you imagine Sheldon having to report to his sister?

I am not taken wit Sara Rue but i did like Sara Gilbert and hope to see more of her.
