Survivor Gabon - Commenatry Thread

I find it stunning how stupid the Survivors always are at the auctions - they never spend all their money. There never are that many items, if you see something you want - bid for it! And if there's something that'll help you in the immunity challenge - bid everything you've got you idiot!

They don't show the whole thing due to time constraints. I remember reading a season or two ago though a list of all the other items the survivors won during the auction that didn't make the episode cut. Like last night, I don't think we saw Crystal bid on a thing, but I'm sure she would have bid on/won something at some point...

I'm surprised this time around there weren't any "bad items" like they've done in the past. Especailly with the "mystery items."

The real fun part is when Randy, sitting on the jury, is going to be forced to vote for either Kenny, Crystal, or Matty, Sugar etc. And Bob was his worst traitor of all; even more than Suzy. HAHA jerk -- gotta vote for one

Oh and the horror on Corinne's face once she realised the idol was a fake... PRICELESS :guffaw:

I was thinking that last night - if Jeff put down a cheeseburger and fries down I would not even hesitate - I'd just have shouted "500 dollars" and walked away with the food I wanted before anyone else had a chance to say anything. If 77 seasons of survivor have taught us anything, they teach us that there's no point in waiting, as there's never as much food coming in the auction as you think there is.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks.

And yeah, Randy is an asshole, but so is everyone else on the "Kota"-alliance. Just watch the behind-the-scenes videos on CBS's Survivor page, they are incredibly arrogant, condescending and overall douchebaggy; they behave like the "cool kids" in high school who bully everyone else. It's very pleasent to see that they got knocked down a notch by the supposed "losers", just Corrine left. Bob must be a saint to have endured that bunch of assholes for so long without going mental.

Great episode last night. Loved watching tribal council play out and I can't wait till the Q & A with the Jury now. That should cause a lot of hilarity I'd imagine. Loved Chrystal's confessional and Jeff's facial expression during it was priceless. :guffaw::guffaw:

I'm officially in love with Sugar now too. I'm rooting for her to win the whole thing at this point. I laughed so hard at this. I also loved everyone's faces as Crystal shouted her vote confessional for all to hear

I felt bad for Bob...I'm glad he did what he did, but he looked so sad and guilty afterwards...

Sugar may be playing smarter than anyone is giving her credit for. I'm not sure why, but I suspect she has a plan in place that none of the others are aware of.

Crystal shouting her confessional was great- just watching the reactions of the others had me in stitches.

At first I wondered why Bob agreed to go along with Sugar's sabotage of Randy, but I guess he didn't have too much to lose. I'm not sure if Randy or Corrine even knew he was it on it, and by going along, Bob gets his foot in the door if or when the old Fang alliance breaks down.

Bob could easily feign ignorance of the fake idol, and say that that's the idol he found on Exile. Sugar or whoever the first guy who went to Exile was could have found it and made a fake idol.

Based on the preview for next week, it looks like Bob tries to explain it away to Corinne by mentioning the idol at their fake merge dinner.

I'm giving her credit for being a hell of a lot smarter than she comes across as too; she's in an excellent position to get to the final 3 (or 2?), better than anyone else - even Kenny. Unfortunately though, she's not that well off in regards to the jury. Randy hates everyone from the old Fang tribe, but he especially hates Sugar more than anyone, and I think he has influence with the others. That's three votes at least against her, no matter what, four if Corinne goes next. Maybe if she gets rid of Kenny she has a decent shot at the million.

Just watch the episode when Randy was voted out:guffaw:, hilarious i couldn't stop laughing. Sugar was awesome(my favorite from epi3). I actually like Randy early on too. He is funny grumpy old man. I kind of felt sorry for him how bad he was voted out. He should have kept his big mouth shut.
My overall thoughts on Gabon season its great. One of my favorite season. My first pick was Corrine because she remind of Karen Allen but she turn out to be a bitch.
I am rooting for Sugar to win now. However i don't want Crystal, Susie or Kenny all make it to final three. So I hope they vote Corrine off next and then Sugar, Matty and Bob take out Kenny or Crystal by using Sugar idol.

Last night's "catch-up" episode comes at a really bad time. I've been itching to see the aftermath of the Randy booting; especially reaction by our resident elitist bitch, Corrine. The whole Corrine/Randy conversation about Sugar last night was just horrific. How can these idiots face themselves in the mirror??

^^^
But it was hilarious to see Randy and Marcus all cocky and arrogant.

I guess CBS thought that it would be a waste to air a regular episode on Thanksgiving.

They probably would have killed all the other networks if they had though. Oh well. Always next week.

Well. Kenny's screwed. So much for his being the self-proclaimed mastermind. He didn't even need to vote for Corinne if they were expecting her to play the idol - no matter how many votes she had, they would have been cancelled, even if it was 6-1. How could he screw up on something so fundamentally simple? Kudos to Corinne and Bob for at least trying every ridiculous scheme they could think up.

If Matty makes it to final 3, I'd wager heavily he's got it locked up now. Bob is the only other person I can see getting enough jury votes, but he's got a harder road to the finale ahead of him.

Well, the jury has to vote for someone, so depending on who makes it to the vote, everyone has a chance; if it's Crystal, Sugar and Kenny I think the jury members will kill themselves. ;)

And I agree that Kenny is an idiot; I think I'm done with this season of Survivor, everyone on the show is either an asshole or stupid except for Bob who won't make it to the final unless he wins every immunity challenge.

That was an exciting episode; bad move by Kenny although I give him points for ambition and backstabbery. Well played by Sugar, but I'm really starting to doubt her gameplan. Crystal is no threat whatsoever in final three - she wouldn't get even a single vote - so why not take out Kenny instead while you're at it? He's the bigger threat in every conceivable way. Sufar is a smart girl, but she seems to be playing just with her guts and not her head, or does she really not care about winning the million?

I also don't understand why everyone's saying that Matty is such a threat, has he won a single challenge yet? Wake up, Bob's the guy who's winning everything, including the jury vote! Get rid of him ASAP!

I will miss Crystal. I agree, she wasn't a threat for the finale at all.

It'll be a close battle between Bob and Matty in a final vote (assuming they both make it). Bob made an enemy of Randy but is on good terms with everyone else and is winning a lot of challenges for a guy in his late 50s. Kenny would get Crystal's vote but that's probably it - he blew his chances last week. Susie wouldn't get any votes and I doubt Sugar will either, even though I think she deserves more respect than the other players give her.
