What's your favorite Westley episode?

"The Game."

Just because it can be so damn creepy in spots, and Wheaton is probably at his best in the entire series acting alongside Ashley Judd's Robin Lefler in this outing.

Second place? "Journey's End."

Westley was the protagonist in The Princess Bride. Wesley was the boy genius in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I try to ignore him. I just see him as a plot device with two purposes:

1. Cause the problem
2. Fix the problem

This may be a stretch, but he reminds me of the actor (young and old) that played Anakin. Maybe that is why I don't like him.

Oh yeah, he does give Picard a reason to say, "I don't do well with children."

Wesley improved a lot after he was written out of the show. Okay, TNG had already improved a lot, but still. The First Duty, for me, was easily the best, but I also enjoyed the creepiness of The Game, and when he came full circle with the Traveller in Journey's End.

A Wesley episode that was good whilst he was a regular? Coming Of Age was alright. I liked his part of The Child too.

First Duty. It was nice to see an episode taking place at starfleet academy. The moral dillema and facing up to his mistakes made Wesley a bit more human. I never really hated Wesley anyway but I would never have included him in the cast. The character just wasn't very interesting. He became better and more bearable once he became a recurring guest star and no longer a regular cast member. His storylines gained depth with that.

Maybe "The Game"... mainly cause he annoys me so much in "The First Duty." He was rude to his mom & the captain! My least favorite episode was the Wesley-centric episode from Season 7 where he becomes a Traveller.

I like the one with the Judd girl. Everyone gets hooked on a video game... Can't recall the title. Great scene with Troi and chocolate dessert, also.

"The First Duty" he actually stands up to Pickard (for two Seconds) gets busted and has to repeat his Sophmore year at the Academy. He gets involved in a flight manuver that is so dangerous that is had been banned by the academy, one cadet is killed and at first Westley tries to cover it up. But in the end he comes clean he and his squadren are given repremands ranging from having to repeat the years studies to being expelled. Robert Duncan McNeill who played Tom Paris on Voyager was the one who got expelled...

Resistance is Futile

Ditto. This is the episode that actually gave the character integrity.

I liked how it made him something other than the perfect child--instead it made him face the hubris that kind of intellect may had led to in him.

Yes,

Oops, sorry. Don't know how that happened.

I liked how it made him something other than the perfect child--instead it made him face the hubris that kind of intellect may had led to in him.

Yes, quite a change from "I'm with Starfleet, we don't lie".

Forgive the double posting caused by an unfortunate combination of mispressed keys.

I'm happy to see "The Game" getting some votes. After the first page, I thought everyone had forgotten about it. In terms of pure quality, "The First Duty" is the best episode centered on Wesley, but I like "The Game" more because I find the whole crew's video game addiction hilarious and I'm a sucker for a sweet, innocent romance. Wesley and Lefler were adorable together. I loved their scenes together, they had really endearing dialogue, especially "Lefler's Laws" and yes, the Troi chocolate scene is classic. :)

The First Duty, but I love Journey's End because it started the great TNG/DS9 Maquis arc that set up Voyager only to have Voyager almost get rid of it after the first episode. DS9 should have done more with the Maquis than what we got.
