Show me your body art!

Telling someone you think they've ruined their body by getting a couple (very tasteful and classy) tattoos sure as hell is judging them.

No, no it isn't. Atleast, not they way I intended to deliver it. (And her tats ARE very tasteful and classy.)

I just don't like tats on women, I don't think any less of TSQ for it, but it's just a shame, is all.

^I know you didn't mean it to be such, but it's just a rude and hurtful thing to tell some one that she's ruined her body and that it's a shame.

I never really paid attention during my surgery rotations, but don't they try to use autologous bone grafts, from your own iliac crests or whatever, rather than cadaver allografts?

It is extra risk to cut open another site when grafts are easy and cheap.

I'm sorry, TSQ, I didn't mean to hurt you. They are, infact, very nice tats, it's just that I think you're a lovely woman and, well, I dunno. Nevermind.

I've nothing against tattoos and wouldn't have a problem being with someone who had them, I'm just not keen on them.

I would just move on, I don't think anything you say will help and will most likely hurt.

By-the-by. Was I delivered a warning too? Your post is unclear.

tsq, did the same artist do both of your tattoos? I usually can tell good from pictures, but I'm unsure about yours? :) Also, last question in what became a question only post, does your artist have a portfolio online I could peruse?

tsq - I love your tattoos! :)
I love the 3d effect on the musical symbol.
I think they are beautiful and I know from experience it is a very empowering feeling to do such to our bodies.
They are OUR bodies to do with as we please.
When you see so many people willingly disfigure themselves through unhealthy lifestyles, it is odd indeed that adding art and beauty to our bodies, OUR bodies, raises the hackles of people.

I know I've said it before (as you've shared them before), but I think it bares repeating... TSQ, I think your tattoos are great and are the best type (ones that have a personal meaning to you). I especially like the hummingbird.

I'm sorry that someone felt that the only way to express their dislike of tattoos was to single you out.

Fixed that. As it stands, no. But one of my colleagues could look at it and revisit the issue.

The way you expressed it, singling out one poster, in a thread devoted to people bragging on their ink wasn't cool.

Aww...thanks for the support shaw and snow. It's no biggie, though.

I had the treble clef done when I was a teenager, and it wasn't done well. In college I had it touched up and had the hummingbird done by the same artist. She specializes in touch-ups and completely transformed the clef -- it was originally solid black.

Yeah, the photo quality is web cam crapola.
Also, last question in what became a question only post, does your artist have a portfolio online I could peruse?
Her name is Rhonda Xanthos and she works at Venus Modern Body Art in the East Village in Manhattan. She is well-deserved of her excellent reputation. I googled her but there were only two samples on the tattoo shop's website. She has a Facebook page that comes up on google, but I can't view it since I don't have facebook. I definitely intend to see her for my next one! She's a roller-durby girl!

I don't know why that second one was a question, my punctuation got confused.

Your touch-up is beautiful. Touch-ups/cover-ups done right are a pretty incredible transformation. I didn't realize how much skill went into them until I saw a few before, during, and after pictures. There is some real creativity in updating and incorporating (either through covering up or working around) the old designs.

This was covered by my healthplan, but not sure if it is ART:lol:

They stuck a fork in you, thinking you were done? :D

No no, if you turn it on its side it's easy to see what is going on here...

RUN AWAY!!!

It's a shame you're such an asshole, too.

It's her body to "ruin", who the hell are you to judge what she does with it?

One warning for Flaming, comment to PM
Dear no0bs, the following quote is an example of what you are not supposed to do when the moderator requests that comments concerning his or her actions are handled via private message:

Worth it.

No0bies, try and refrain from having the last word or a final say in the thread after the moderator (who I guarantee already hates having to dole out warnings for childish behavior) has spoken on the matter as they can cause any number of problems. Thanks for your kind attention and have a pleasant trekbbs day.
