Hey I said it once I will say it again.

Say what you will about Abrams design but it looks more like the original design than that Stardestroyer hybrid piece of crap they were planing to use for Planet of the Titans which you can look since its Forbin's avatar no offence to his taste.

The new Enterprise is still the same thing, only the details have been changed.

Its the amount of "details" that make the original 1701/refit great designs and the Rebootprise a puke worthy piece of white molten goo.

The precise shape of the intercoolers (e.g.) are the details - and no - a battleship and a tug are not the same.

Terry Gilliam is doing f/x work for TREK XI? Genius!!! On the serious side, though, I imagine strong antigrav boosters combined with chemical rocket thrusters would be employed to raise the Enterprise from the surface into orbit unless one planned to do a Statue of Liberty on her, assemble her at the construction site and then break her down all over again into smaller chunks just to make the trip easier.

I don't know how people can bash the JJprise but love the TOS and refit versions. It doesn't make intellectual sense to me. I understand the emotions behind it, but there's no *logical* reason for it.
