National Naked Day April 2 ?....

we should have a national holiday where everybody goes naked all over the country. it will go a long way in promoting a healthy attitude in the new american fabric. just think, you could show up at work, or hop on a bus and meet all new people. i think we would be more respectful of our elders if we were to see them naked. and just think of all those ww2 vets, and female uso volunteers that would get a whole new lease on life. family picnics would also take on a whole new meaning. cheerleading will be the new contact sport, bike riding, church going would be a whole new experience as well. just think a whole new era will dawn in america. and if we extend it to the world, terrorism and suicide bombings would be a thing of the past (well mostly, we'd probably only get gay bombers, but they would be easy to spot, what with that big grin on their face). it won't be hard to get kids to go to school.

Well that's sort of missing the point then, isn't it? It's supposed to celebrate imperfection (or to put it a better way, individualism), and serve as a backlash against unrealistic standards set by society, and the lengths to which people go to satisfy those standards. If it reduced eating disorders, that drastically affect one's weight in either direction, and increased self-esteem then such a holiday would be a good thing.

I do understand "celebrating imperfection", but at least here in the U.S., it is likely going to be an opportunity for exhibitionists to strut their stuff (and I've been to a nudist resort ) and for all of those men-with-cameras.
