So I was channel surfing the other day and I saw that the Star Trek 30th Anniversay Celebration was on Biography, for some reason. I know it's like 12 years old now, but I watched it anyway. Ben Stiller was one of the guest speakers; apparently he's a huge star trek fan.
Anyway, he starts talking about how he grew up watching TOS and how big of a nerd he was and how much he loved the show etc., then he makes a comment that goes something like this: "I only watched the orignal Star Trek; I don't know anything about 'Deep Space 12' or 'My Generation' or whatever'..."
WTF was he thinking? This was supposed to be a tribute to all of Star Trek. Virtually the entire cast of all four series was in the audience and he just insulted 3/4ths of them! After he said that, it cut to a shot of Avery Brooks in the audience and he looked summarily ticked off!
Oh well. It just kind of bugged me and I wanted to share it with everyone.
