The 80s have been back with us for a couple of years now.

It can work I think... a little while ago I saw this girl who was wearing scrunched-down grey leg warmers with black high heels and an otherwise fairly conservative black dress & accessories. It was a very cute/sassy touch.

These leg warmers from http://www.modcloth.com have caught my eye, but I don't think I could pull off the look. Oh well! Saves me money at least.

^^Maybe she was just tired of having cold ankles.
Darn, I'm beginning to sound like Trekker.

I announced this yesterday, beret me (and hat me):

The hat's not great though. It looks too small.
The stuffed alligator on the TV is from New Orleans.

You know what this means, don't you ?

tsq vs Ria HAT WAR!!!! :)

To women enter (wearing hats), one woman leaves!

The exposed part of the shoes kind of defeats the purpose of the leg warmers. Definitely a fashion accessory, then.
If that's how fashion defines itself... I'm pround not to be its victim.

Can she leave her hat on?

War? Why war? That's such a man's attitude. Female rivalries are not that warlike. If you think that, you've been watching too many fictions really written by men.

And who can beat that? v

you're just pandering to a national stereotype.

but you do look good doing it :D
Every French woman's been wearing them for 2 or 3 winters, in all shades of colours. They do keep your head warm, you know. They're made of wool. That one was given to me by a friend. My beige one didn't turn out good in pictures at first try.

This one is less typical. I didn't want to post it, because I look like an old smurf instead of a Renaissance person. Christmassy, though... for playing an elf!

Personally like it its quirky and I like quirky. I cant pull off the beret. I need something with a bit of a bill (sp?)or a trim in front.

Hey, your gender turned everything in to a phone-in vote based competition, not mine. Singing, talent shows, ballroom dancing, living in the jungle, ice skating, living with a bunch of strangers, you name it.

You're wrong there, it became a texting competition. Only lame-o's use their phones to call people.

You're suggesting women invented reality shows?
Since when are high-ranking TV network executives female?

I like the scarf/shawl (bit difficult to be sure which from the pics).

I really like that look, though not so much with the jeans. But the incongruity between the heels and the leg-warmers is great fun.

Male hat war! You and Holdy!

Are you serious? Respect to HF, he got me on the shoes and dressy fits, but I seriously doubt anybody on this board has as many hats as I do.

Yeah, I cede this one. I've only got a couple of fedoras & a couple of panamas and a homburg. That's about it, though I keep meaning to get a black silk topper if I can ever find a vintage one in my size for a good price.
