Speaking of last year, what happened to the meteor that would've flattened the Earth in the newly altered timeline? If the Trickster rotted the world upon his release in the 50s as Rani's mother described, shouldn't it still have crashed into the Earth the year before Clyde and Rani 'slid' from their reality to the changed one?

The Trixter eats temporal distortion caused by paradoxes, or at the least he gets off on it. Just 'cause he fumbled one snack because the lad over played his hand, that's like saying that lions must be vegetarians if you narrowly avoid being mawled and consumed by one.
