I require help with a job search engine.

I am currently looking for:

School: sushi chef academies

State: Southern California

County: Orange Country or Inland Empire

But, all I am getting from Google.com are sushi restaurants in Orange County and the Inland Empire, because the search engine seems to only recognize the words "sushi" and "California" as the primary target words for its search parameters.

I am studying to be a chef.

If you know of any job/school search engines that can provide me with the relevant information above, I would be more than grateful.

There are two things I can't stand: People who are intolerant of other people and their cultures. And booleans. (or is that bolians?)

Try adding in some boolean operators. "NOT restaurant*" should weed most out.
The fact that the word "restaurant" is in the search field when I type in "NOT restaurant" is pulling in more restaurants for me.

If Google was as advanced as the Enterprise-D computers, we would not be having this problem right now.

Report:

No, Google still isn't giving me what I am looking for.

I spoke to a sushi chef this morning and he told me that there is one sushi school in Huntington Beach, CA but I want to look over several schools before making a decision.

Google is pulling up Los Angeles locations only, but since this sushi chef told me that he graduated from a school in Huntington Beach, CA in Orange County, there has got to be more options available to narrow it down to several cities in a county search.

Or else, I'll have to go with the school that chef graduated from.

The funny thing is that, after I graduate from that chef's school is when I'll probably find 6 other sushi schools in Orange County, and probably with better reputation and instruction.

No, I don't want that to happen. I would actually want to find the best 6 schools now and choose 1 from there, then find the best 6 schools later after I graduate from 1 school I pick randomly out of a (Google) hat.

Help.

I'm not aware of any sushi schools here in Huntington Beach. In the list below there's one that says "International Sushi Academy" in Buena Park, which is nearby, but that's actually just a restaurant.

Google Maps Search for "Sushi Academy" + "Huntington Beach"

"Sushi School" + "Huntington Beach" produced only LA locations as well

Are you sure it was a specific sushi academy he mentioned, and not simply a culinary school?

There's a couple of culinary schools in the area (Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, etc.)

Golden West College here in Huntington Beach offers a less than 2-Year "Personal and Culinary Services" certificate, so maybe he went there?

No, these academies actually take anywhere from 1-6 months for completion, and afterwards they award you a certificate and provide you with job referrals.

I keep getting Los Angeles County locations when I am more interested in Orange County, which is a lot closer to where I live.

Sadly, Google Maps can't magically will a sushi academy in Orange County into existence... yet.

I looked at everything sushi related in HB. It's all restaurants.

Thanks for your help.

It's not just Huntington Beach that I am looking at, but the entire Orange County.

I may just go to sushi bars and chat up with some of the chefs over there, and see how they started out in the business, or call up the chef I spoke to earlier and get more information from him.

It's not just Huntington Beach that I am looking at, but the entire Orange County.

Did you look at the Google Maps links I provided? It centers on Huntington Beach and then finds the nearest locations from there that fit that description. The closest actual sushi schools/academies listed are in Los Angeles, unless you go to a less specific culinary school instead.

I get that you want to go to a sushi school in Orange County, but if one doesn't exist it doesn't exist.

I believe I have found what I am looking for.

Close enough.

Good enough! :bolian:
