He'll probably still get paid a $100K a game, life just ain't fair.

Yeah, but he'll spend three or four years in prison, first. He didn't have a permit for the gun, which is a felony offense in New York and punishable by a minimum of three and a half years in jail.

Son of a Filthy Whore!

:scream:

Stupid Rams. The defense showed up. Steven Jackson showed up. Josh Brown showed up. But apparently, Marc Bulger decided to take the day off. He must have had a passer rating of about 7 today.

He's done. Finished. Game over, man.

Let's start scouting QB's in the draft.

Hell, the Rams could find some legally blind syphillis-ridden crack fiend with ricketts and a bum knee down at Laclede's Landing who could play better than this.

Goddamnit!!

There is this Matt Cassel fellow who's going to be available in the offseason (though I expect him to wind up in Minnesota).

Roman Gabriel isn't dead yet.
Interesting, we'll see, I'll actually be shocked if he gets that. I expect he won't.
I'll be surprised too. Justice generally seems to work a little differently for the rich and/or talented.

I also wonder how long Goodell is going to suspend him for.

I won't lie... I cheer against the Bears and the Rams for no reason other than I enjoy seeingJKTim's and 1001001's post game reactions. :p

As for my team, Denver is looking pretty good right now. They have a shot at winning this!

Goodell's Magic 8-Ball of Justice has been fucking wacky lately, given that Santana Moss just got docked $5,000 for throwing a punch at a guy's head, but Joey Porter got a $7,500 fine for trash talking.

That said, it doesn't look good for Plaxico. New York's government, Mayor Bloomberg in particular, has been making a big deal about cracking down on illegal firearms. There's something to be said for the double standard that celebrities sometimes get, but it's pretty hard to get around mandatory prison sentences.

I also fully expect tonight's Bears / Vikings game to be a comedy of epic proportions.

I've been thinking the same thing, especially when the Pats' Matt Light and the Phins Channing Crowder got into that nice little "hi, how are ya?" and were only fined but not suspended.

Jesus Christ, what a clusterfuck. Crowder should have been flagged for unnecessary roughness, but Light grabbed the man by his hair and began delivering blows to his head. That he's only $15,000 lighter in the pocket is just ridiculous.

Intersting game between the Pats and the Steelers right now. THe end of the first half was almost laughable in how each team kept dropping balls and missing chances.

I'd be shocked, too. Burress has deep pockets and the best lawyers money can buy. That said, his playing days for the Giants might be over. He's a distraction to the team, fans are sick of him and this latest stupid stunt could very well be see ya. As Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News put it:

So this distraction, this headline, is about a gun going off, in a season when Burress has already paid out more than $200,000 in fines to his team and to the league, has been suspended for one whole game (that one alone cost him $117,500 in missed salary) and part of another game. So this time it is a bit more serious than being late for team meetings.

(snip)

Now comes this "apparent accidental shooting" when he is out clubbing on a Friday night. The Giants should tell him to go now. That gun going off doesn't mean Burress is John Dillinger. Just that he is no longer worth the trouble.

Lupica

Christmas came early! All I wanted was a decent football team, and for 4 hours today, I had one! Cutler looked very sharp today, Hillis did amazing, and the defense actually played some defense! Espexcally at the end, they were blocking passes left and right, and were making some amazing stands. NY was 8/9 for 4th down conversion, and Denver stopped them 3 times today on 4th.

The only major downside: Denver's running out of players. By the end, Denver was losing a player every other play. They need to be careful.

I wanted to read your post, but Mike Lupica is a barely functional retard.

The Lions only need to lose 4 more games this year...

I'm hoping they do it. All the teams they're playing need to win to get in the playoffs. It is also hard to beat teams when you give up 200+ on the ground every week.

The Lions have a real good shot at going 0-16.

That is, of course, just your opinion. Lupica still writes good sports stuff but ever since he started writing novels he has a tendency to be a long-winded gas bag on other topics.

Dear Lovie Smith,

That you actually said that the Bears "dominated" the first half is utterly mind-boggling. Between that and your absurd decision to punt at the end of the fourth quarter, I am convinced that you truly have no idea what is going on during the game, and you are instead listening to the Jonas Brothers on your headset. The blame for all of this falls on you. The epic failures on both sides of the ball come from a combination of poor decisions on whom you decide to put in charge and a general lack of accountability. I've heard of players cashing their paychecks and checking out, but since you got your payday, you have been a shell of your former self. If you don't fix the mess you made, then I seriously hope you just go away. I hate what the Bears have become. Get fucked.

Dear Ron Turner,

Please get set on fire sometime in the near future. Turner, so you're playing against one of the best run-stopping defensive lines in football, and what do you do? Consistently run the ball up the middle. If you aren't fired after the season is over, it will be a travesty. I don't give a shit how much the offense has improved this year, your play-calling is a fucking joke.

I won't object if Donner, Blitzen, Dasher, Prancer and Rudolph run a train on you in the next few days, either. I really won't.

Dear Bob Babich,

Even the booth was talking about how Adrian Peterson loves how you crowd the line with your linebackers, making it easier to break off big chunks of yards once you got past the line. Yeah, that is a serious problem. Blitzing and not getting to the quarterback? Not generating a consistent pass-rush? Giving receivers a ten-yard cushion? Since you have taken over one of the most talented defenses in football, the entire system has become an afterthought. Hell, it has become bad. Get yourself shot. Fuck, you can be Lucky Pierre when Rudolph's having his way with Turner.

Dear Kyle Orton,

You have converted me to your cause this year, but you played an absolutely abysmal second half tonight, behaving with the worst aspects of Brett Favre and Rex Grossman. You are not a gunslinger. Please stop trying to be one, and instead do your job. I still believe in you, my neckbearded hero from Altoona. But don't fuck up like this again.

Dear Bears secondary,

Get fucked, you goddamn gutless worthless fucking assholes. You gave up a 99-yard touchdown pass to motherfucking Gus Frerotte. Tillman, I don't care if you thought a safety was coming in to help you out: You play the fucking man. Fuck you. Orton would never have tried to play so out of his league if you hadn't shit the bed repeatedly.

Love,
Timby

P.S.: Kyle, you're supposed to hit the bottle of Jack after the game, not before.
