Eh, I', 5'2"ish and have never dated a guy under 6'. 6'5" might be a bit much, though I tend to lose perspective once you get over 6'. At that point they're just tall.

Personally, I have a preference for a height difference that's not too great. 5'10" is fine; 6'3" is my limit (In theory. 1,90 m to me.)
The question is, do we accept a reverse height difference as easily?

Yes I do. I can't really explain it. Someone suggested that I have a protector complex or that I need to have a shorter and more feminine woman to make me feel more of a man. The last one doesn't make any kind of sense to me since I'm effin 6'3", hairy as hell and a deep voice so I'm preeetty manly already. The protector complex doesn't make much sense either since I prefer women who can speak up for themselves, not because I'm lazy but because I'd be bored with a girl who was weak personalitywise. Then it makes more sense to me that I have a lolitacomplex, but that doesn't work either because I do like shapes on a girl.

As for the latter part, it depends on the person. My sis new boyfriend is about 4 inches shorter then her. Then again she's pretty dominant.

I confess that it bothers me if my date is thinner, or weighs less than me. I'm old enough to have motherly feelings and want to hold at least as much as to be held, but the thought of a man who can literally sweep me off my feet is alluring.

The protector complex doesn't make much sense either since I prefer women who can speak up for themselves, not because I'm lazy but because I'd be bored with a girl who was weak personalitywise.

You can easily find a shorter girl with a tongue in her head. (In fact, she may be outspoken in part as a way of compensating for being short.)

A friend once suggested that that's the same reason why I prefer shorter guys, though my ex-husband was about half an inch taller than me (and the same weight, which made it really easy to wear each other's clothes ), and the guy I dated last year was a couple of inches taller than me. Most of the rest of my boyfriends have been shorter - my current bf is 5'4" (I'm a hair under 6').

And the problem has never really been finding a girl, the problem is me and my dwindling self esteem. It's a thing I've been fighting with for most of my life, but am getting better. And yes, it's an explanation, not an excuse.

No actually the bigger problems have been falling for the wrong girls for me. Right now I've got a serious crush on the girl in my group in school. She's very friendly and nice to be around but is very much a party girl (whereas I am very much not a party guy) snuffs and smokes a bit (hate both habits), not to mention being a bit too young for me at 19, and yet I'm very much taken by her. I think though that it's her outspoken personality and the fact that she's now the only person who hugs me on a regular basis that has me hooked.

I'll meet someone sometime I'm sure, not exactly my biggest issue right now though.
