"Too distracting?" How did they establish that, I wonder? The whole production is distracting, if you ask me. The whole thing is a flurry of activity, emotions, comings and goings, famous actors strutting their stuff to the appreciation of an enthusiastic and receptive audience. The amazing chandeliers are distracting, the giant mirror up stage is distracting. The three lions on Gertrude's bedhead are distracting (are we not in Demark?) I can't believe people are more distracted by a skull than they are by all or any of the above. But that's just me - distracted by the fangirls cackling at every move Tennant made, even when the movements weren't funny.
ETA: I've just re-read my post. I think I might have over-reacted a bit. Oh, well.
