Best Ds9 Space Battle episode

Thanks to the use of stock footage, you can list several episodes as your single favorite! :o

"Return to Grace", absolutely.

I mean, which other episode devoted such a huge percentage of screen time to the space battle A-plot? The B- or C-plot fleet battles in the above episodes were fleeting things, if you pardon the pun.

I have to admit, I'm pretty fond of Way of the Warrior. You get the Defiant Vs. the Klingons as an appetizer before the main course, DS9 going up against the fleet. The length was about right, plus there was some hand to hand combat and the music was just sweeping the whole way through.

I think the boarding scenes in Way of the Warrior spoiled that part for me. Too many proud and trained warriors standing around waiting to get hit. Though it only really stood out for me in Ops.

Sacrifice of Angels had a bigger feel to it, and the feeling of doom up until the Prophets realised they had to help Sisko, or lose him. But I always remember that episode fondly for Dukats reaction to Ziyals death.

A Call to Arms... I think... both the main one, and the one With Martok guarding the Defiant.

Sacrifice followed closely by Call to Arms. Just watched the latter last night (Working on the occupation arc this Thanksgiving weekend) and that was a hell of a space battle.

Yup, another vote each for Call to Arms and Sacrifice of Angels :bolian:

Though the Changing Face of Evil is right up there too. "Poor Captain Sisko... I believe he was quite fond of that ship" :p

I like that, but it just seemed too much of an add on to the episode, it showed the Breens strength but killed the Defiant off very spectacularly.

Saying that, it did give them another reason to lose hope.. which made the final win all the better.

For me, its a tie between Sacrifice of Angels and THe way of the Warrior. Both have their own merits. The way of the Warrior showed u what was possible from a space battle perspective and the fact that DS9 (the station) had "teeth." This is especially evident after DS9 (the station) was getting it's but kicked by three Cardassian cruisers in "EMISSARY."

Sacrifice of Angels was the first time that we saw a full fledge space battle among the federation, Klingons, Dominion, and Cardassian. They set the standard for what was to come.
