The Pipboy 3000

[All Seeing Eye]

This is the Pipboy 3000. It's a futuristic device used by your character in the game Fallout 3 and it has several different features like a geiger counter and light etc etc and it wraps around your forearm.

Well I was thinking how great it would be to develop and build something like this now.
It could have several features like an inbuilt walky talkie, a radio receiver, inbuilt video mobile phone, a search light, a GPS and map system, wireless internet and some health device such as a pulse rate checker and blood oxygen level checker etc etc. Maybe it could have defensive features like built in taser and a small vile of mace which can be sprayed.

Wouldn't a device like that be great? especially if everybody had one.

What other features could this device have on it?

Edit: Ah ha! it could have an inbuilt camera and video camera system for taking pics and vids.

The Geiger counter is in the game, the real life version would not need a geiger counter, we've not had a nuclear war.
Also, we don't have holographic projection technology yet.

Everything you described except the pulse/ox and the defensive stuff is already done by my cell phone, including GPS Navigation. It's an HTC Apache.

If the defense stuff was built in, I'd never be able to get on a commercial flight with my phone.

A smartphone is versatile highly portable, and it dosen't have to be strapped to my arm like that crazy wrist computron thing in Galactica 1980
