My vote's also for Sisko's speech from The Pale Moonlight.

By the way, just a bit of nitpicking: It's "monologue", not "monolog".

Curious. That's the only place I can find that lists that spelling, as well. Which one do you suggest is the British spelling? Traditionally it's the US that simplifies spelling, but here in the US I've only ever seen it spelled monologue. Maybe its one of Webster's reformed spellings that didn't quite take hold. . .

I would suspect "monologue" is the British spelling.

I've seen "dialogue" similarly shortened as well as "analogue." The degree to which the shortened version took depends on the word, I think.

Another vote for "Pale Moonlight". Not only for it's monolog or monologue or montage or monogamy or whatever, but IMO one of the best Trek episodes ever. :)

I would nominate/say that, for me, the best is Kirk's one at the end of TUC, at the "sign-off" with the signatures.

Also, the simple line at the end of TVH... 'My friends, we've come home.'

Cheers,

"He tasks me! He tasks me, and I shall have him. I'll chase him round the moons of Nibia and round the Antares Maelstrom and round Perdition's flames before I give him up!"

"Dammit Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with the wave of a magic wand, they're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. We lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away, I need my pain!"

How's about this one:

"Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission; to explore strange, new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no one has gone before"

Did I get the punctuation right?

I also liked Benny Russel's Tirade in "Far Beyond the Stars"

"Call anybody you want, they can't do anything to me, not any more, and nor can any of you. I am a Human being, dammit! You can deny me all you want but you can't deny Ben Sisko – He exists! That future, that space station, all those people – they exist in here, in my mind! I created it! And everyone of you knew it, you read it. It's here! Do you hear what I'm telling you? You can pulp a story but you cannot destroy an idea, don't you understand, that's ancient knowledge, you cannot destroy an idea! That future – I created it, and it's real! Don't you understand? It is real. I created it. And it's real! It's REAL!"

Oh and the "We are Borg, hear us roar" speech
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."
