Paterson Joseph - black actor - tipped as Tennant's replacement

I'd sooner have Robert Webb... hmm... maybe the Doctor could encounter their crime fighting characters, the Avenging Angel (or whatever the name was) and BMX Bandit.

I like Colin Salmon, he would make a good Doctor, he would also make an awesome Bond, much better than the joke we have as Bond now.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond we've ever had since Connery. Every one inbetween was laughably crap imho.

After watching that YouTube video, I think Mr. Joseph (who I'd never heard of before this thread) would make a fine Doctor. :techman:

The TARDIS is obviously trying to kill the Doctor, if you take into account, EVERY SINGLE adventure and accidental locus it's moored to, that it's sniffing for danger to through this Timelord against...

They'd be this huge section of earth/American history that he'd be a fool to explore any more considering the Terminal opposition that would be rallying against him... "Now those Daleks has tolds me that under all that metal and before all that mutating, that they were and still are very white in every way that matters, so really we'd rather be their slaves than accept help from some uppity field nigger too stupidly righteous not to accept a good old fashioned tar and feathering when his betters tell him his lot."

I liked the Doctor's conversations with Geoffrey from The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire in something or another of the daleks... Not that he heads into the good old boys country of America much anyway... I always thought it was such a waste to set an adventure on that day in history and not mention the Kennedy Assassination.

From Digital Spy

Patterson Joseph has admitted that the Doctor Who lead role is a highly attractive proposition.

"Any actor would love the challenge," the Survivors star told BBC News, responding to the frequent speculation that he will replace the departing David Tennant as the iconic Time Lord.

Joseph, who also starred in Steven Moffat's Jekyll, refused to confirm or deny whether any negotiations are underway. Referring to his current status as a bookmakers' favourite for the role at 3-1 he said: "I'm afraid I can't make any comment on it. I'm not a gambler, and I don't approve of gambling unless it's for the Grand National."

However, he did explain his feelings on the longevity of the legendary character: "[The Doctor's] parameters are so vast. I don't see why he can't have more regenerations than the 13 that those who know think a Time Lord can have."

Just to add more fuel to the fire of speculation.

OOh! ha ha great snippet there--I suspect it'd be in his interests to keep quiet even if he wasn't in talks to take the role--sure his agent doesn't mind him being in the public eye!

I'm gonna be so dissapointed if it isn't him though!

things do seem to be pointing his way, I tend to think he is at least being considered by the BBC for the role

The Doctor, let's say to Captain Jack...

"Am I?"

"Are you...what?"

"Ginger?"

"Uh, no."

Doctor realizes he's black...

Jack..."Are you?"

"Am I...what?"

"Bigger?"

"Not now, Jack."
