The most consistently loved scifi show on the BBS?

Firefly. The only criticism I ever notice is "It didn't run long enough to judge correctly"-and once someone made a negative comment about "cowboys in space" I think....

You must have missed all the criticism of Whedon's style of dialogue and general sense of humour. It comes out a lot.

If there is going to be a poll about this then it will have to include a like and dislike column with the dislike column being subtracted from the like in order to determine the winner. As the original poster mentioned, a lot of series seem to receive a lot of extreme opinions at both end of the scale.

It should also be limited to television show (as opposed to movie).

Oh, there are tons of anti-Firefly fans out there. However, I think most of the really extreme ones are merely a reaction to the extremely vocal pro-Firefly fans (who, I would have to agree, are crazy).

The shows I can think of that seem to usually escape criticism free are shows that few people watched, like MST3K & Red Dwarf. Also, everyone loves Earth: Final Conflict if you forget about every season except the first one.

I was also going to suggest Red Dwarf. Perhaps it's comedies that arouse less negative sentiments...

And you're right about E:FC, it's first season is generally considered to be great scifi tv, but after that... So I guess that doesn't count.

I think The X-Files is also loved by many, but not as a whole. Some like the mytharc episodes, some like the stand alones and some only like the early seasons, but I've not heard many that dislike the entire show.

Going back to comedy, what about the Hitchhiker's Guide? The tv show was a bit campy, but does anyone really dislike it?

Yeah Red Dwarf and Hitchicker's guide to the galaxy are both entertaining and funny. I also like the hitchiker's guide movie, and season 8 of red dwarf is the best

UFO?
