Seriously, wouldn't Simon Pegg look more authentic with a Scotty wig?

Re: Seriously, wouldn't Simon Pegg look more authentic with a Scotty w

Yeah but since the bulk of this is set before TUC and in all likelihood a different timeline to boot, how does it muck anything up?

Sequels and prequels have been know to muck up the good movies

The sweeping, general nature of that comment notwithstanding, a sequel or prequel can suck in and of itself but how does it do anything to the source material?

Does Rocky suck because Rocky V sucked?

What? Do you not know of the people that can't stand any of the star wars movies now because of the prequels (all 6 are good)

Rocky? Never seen them, boxing is crap

Re: Seriously, wouldn't Simon Pegg look more authentic with a Scotty w

Yes and no, doesn't is star in the 24th century?

Yeah, but that's not germane to the discussion because you won't be seeing Kirk there.

Where were you going with this again?
The recasting and mucking up the final film

You do realize that this was more a 'fare thee well' to the actors, of whom no one thought that any of them would play these characters again (ever noticed that the signatures at the end say 'William Shatner', 'Leonard Nimoy' and so on and so forth, and not 'Captain James Tiberius Kirk', 'Captain Spock'...?)?

Because when you put the DVDs on, the stories have changed?

Re: Seriously, wouldn't Simon Pegg look more authentic with a Scotty w

Anyway, there is also the point with the original crew having a good ending, now it is mucked up.

Sorry, but Star Trek 6 is a really bad movie.

How sad

I agree, I too thought the movie was sad when I sat through it. <Yawn>

Their problem. Such people need therapeutic help and possibly medication. They certainly shouldn't be allowed to watch movies unaccompanied by a parent or guardian, whatever their ages.

Not until just now, no.

And even if these people exist, they're dumbasses.

How sad that you do not like a classic like star trek 6

It's a "classic" only in the minds of some trekkies and fellow-travelers. Under-budgeted, badly written and unimaginatively produced with some of the most implausible and hammy acting that group of actors ever did (in the Trek movies). Paramount just wanted to get some product out the door on the "25th anniversary" before putting the old actors out to pasture in favor of the TNG folks.

It made a little money, but not much - people were bored with the TOS movies by that time, and word of mouth was not great.

How sad that you won't give the new actors any chance just because they don't look like the actors who played these characters first.

I am going to still see the movie, I did not say I was not going to give the movie a chance at all, the recasting thing is what is a problem

How can you not have noticed that?, there have been discussions here with those people

Guess I must have skimmed over them, as I'm wont to do with anyone not discussing something on its own merits rather than on the merits (or lack thereof) of some other movie.

TNG movies are classic too. Where exactly is the bad acting in Star Trek VI?

You do you Nimoy had a lot of input in Star Trek 6, so you feel confident in the remake? You might be disappointed then

Since you just quoted the stuff that outlines who I'm talking about I'm going to assume that you're just deliberately screwing around.

I'm done here. Enjoy.

It's only a problem if the acting is bad.

And, I still prefer Roger Moore over Sean Connery as 'Bond' :D

And I quoted it to show your insults and disrespect when I did not insult you.
