Well, since Emh seems to be MIA with his usual L&O reviews, I thought I'd step in...my thoughts on this last episode (the one with the animal smuggling ring):
- Olivia.
That bit where she shows up at the house that (undercover) Elliott is using, then the mobsters arrive unannounced and she improvises, playing a hooker: Hottest that she has EVER been on this show.
- Is it just me, or is Elliott the Miles O'Brien of the L&O universe? He's always getting himself shot, beat up, yelled at, marriage almost going bust, etc.
- Has there ever been more gore in any L&O episode before? This is some sick shit here.
'Course, in an episode where vicious animals are the major plot point, it's expected.
- That rapper "Gots Money" was hilarious. Both him, and that ridiculous group of 'cheerleaders' hanging around his studio.
- Nice to see that the Stablers managed to keep it together by the end. (Liv had earlier talked Kathy out of leaving, and the final scene showed that El and Kathy were back with it) While I thought Dani Beck was hot, I think it's a frakking useless cliché that so many L&O characters have failed relationships. Nice to see the Stablers' isn't one of them.
Besides, Kathy is cute.
- Andrew Divoff is creepy, as always. (He was the Russian mobster heading up the smuggling ring.) As he was being led away at the end he kept yelling that he'd kill El's family. Hope he doesn't follow up on that.
