Okay, so it's his opinion that we have plants. Now that that's settled, does anyone have any ideas about viral marketing and how it might come into play as regards this movie. Even one?
How about the timer at the trailer site counting upwards after counting down? A kind of "temporal tampering" that makes people think about the time travel plot point of the movie?
C'mon. You know it's a more entertaining way to look at it than the real world explanation of some sort of glitch with the web page. Besides, it has the virtue of fitting almost any conspiracy (for or against) about the new movie. How about the timer at the trailer site counting upwards after counting down? I'm just curious... do I need to start every post with IMHO?Thanks for chiming in, Mr. Church, but there's no credibility issue as I have stated only my opinion. What the flip are you talking about?
I'm talking about you telling us how crap the ship is, as opposed to how crap you think it is. I don't like people ramming their opinion in my face as fact.
Based on your ass-backward interpretation of my comment about the Titanic quote, that's how, big guy. I can only go on what you post and you suggested that I thought the line was metaphor for a lemon or for "sinking." That wasn't the point of I was trying to make and that wan't the point of the quote so it appeared tha typu didn't understand that by your own words. Hence, you were corrected.I've implied nothing of what you suggested and if you knew the context of the line in Titanic instead of just spouting off...*snip*
I'll just stop your yammering there - I'm well aware of the line in question, it's context and significance. I don't understand how you can tell me what I do and do not know - oh yes, arrogance.
Ryan Church has been quoted as saying to TrekMovie.com:Nice... use a line from Titanic about the Titanic. That's not a particularly good harbinger. We've built you a fine ship.
So you really think Church is aware that he's built a lemon, and is therefore comparing it to the Titanic?
See, that's where you lose credibility - stating your personal opinion as fact. You are telling us that the new ship is the Titanic (presumably you're implying some kind of "sinking" metaphor)
You're just being weird, now. It's an observation I made, get over it, seriously. I'm sorry... I didn't say IMHO... but waitaminute... I said "I think" so should that imply that it's my opinion. You have too many rules. And I'm a little concerned about "kettle and pot comment," though. It seems to have a hint of racism to it.I simply think it's interesting that he is as as proud and arrogant about his design as Thomas Andrews was in Titanic and that was ultimately his undoing. As I said, using a line like that is not just arrogant and prideful, it's a bad harbinger. It would simply be poetic if it was Church's as well.
You're calling him arrogant? Pot, meet kettle.... As for this "bad harbinger" stuff, I think you're talking nonsense. But that's just my opinion.
Fine... IMHO you simply have no taste. You simply just have no taste, but that's OK... everyone's entitled to not have taste.
There you go again. You might not think I have no taste, which is fine, but I object to you telling me that as fact. Your opinion <> fact. That is arrogance.
IMHO, I don't know what that means.I'd quote you further, but I can't be arsed.
Not only are we paid, but the health plan ROCKS!But you are just a paid lackey of the studio - as am I! We all lie ! TRUE fans hate all of this and only TRUE fans have a trueful opinion.
The closest thing I've seen so far is the http://www.ncc-1701.com/ site. But it doesn't appear much has been done with it. I'd be surprised if no more viral marketing happened considering the campaign that went on for "Cloverfield".Viral marketing. That's the thread subject. Please remove your endless "you suck-ness" to any of the 50 other threads where it's already going on.

JJ started up a pretty cool campaign with many components. You can read about them in this article: http://blog.wired.com/geekdad/2007/12/infected-by-clo.htmlWhat all was done for Cloverfield? I kind of totally missed that since monster movies aren't my thing.
