OK, here we go. I decided I would start modeling the new Enterprise in 3d, like I did with the old Kelvin.

This is very rough, but It's getting the idea across. The nacelles are totally temporary. :)

Maybe it's not so ugly, after all...

Oh yeah MadMan1701A. Your work looks awesome. And I agree. It looks even better from different angles.
Take that and suck it ya reboot haters. Suck it hard...

And keep it up Madman1701A. If it ends up anything as nice as you did with the kelvin it will be Excremet!!!

Excrement? :)

Thanks, I'm hoping to do even better than the kelvin with this one. I just wish I could see what the shuttlebay looks like...

Nice work! Does it match up with the profile silhouette we've seen?

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

Good work. I think it may look better from other angles. Can you do a side ortho?

Sure Thing....

And another update...

Now, all the stuff on top of the saucer is temporary, and is actually from another model I was building. :) It can be ignored.

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

Thanks, I think it does look a bit better from the side. The design has grown on me somewhat. The angle they chose to show it at wasn't the best. Made it look too much like RS's ENT-C as designed in the 50's.

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

I agree 100%. I think that the camera FOV is screwed up in that photo, too. They certainly could have come up with something better for the first release. :)

Those engines are a mess!

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

I'm sorry to have to agree with that. IMHO the bussards are a tad smaller and don't venture into the bubble that connects the nacelle to the pylon...

They only just barely do. That ring that looks like it's holding the dome in place definitely sticks into the stuff in that pod, and this was the only way it seemed to fit.

I will tweak it and see if I get a better result. :)

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

Any chance I could use your model in a mod for Star Trek Legacy?

Re: Ok, someone had to do it... The New Enterprise in 3D!

What are you using as a model for the top half of the saucer? I assume it's the teaser version, as that's all we have to go on? Also, is it me or are the Bussard collectors pointed like early 90s Madonna (In the source photo of course)?
