Remarkably, you notice who hasn't said anything but good things about the movie?
Answer: anyone who's seen any of it.
Fixed the quote tags.Hey, I didn't say that... though it does mirror my own thoughts.
I don't wish to ban you, nor anyone.Shatterhand, I asked you once before not to do that. Please don't do it again.<snipping apparently offensive message...>
I apologize for my offense. I'm just growing rather disgruntled at all of the negativity over details that, in my mind, shouldn't have such a significant effect on one's enjoyment of this movie.
I guess what I'm left to wonder is why my statement is so terrible when such narrow-mindedness goes unquestioned. If you intend to suggest it's because my statement is directed at one person in particular, it really isn't, so that argument doesn't really apply.
If you wish to ban me, feel free. I really couldn't care less at this point.
I think that we, as a fanbase, have been immersed in the post-TNG PC brand of Trek for so long that we think that anything said that is off color (read: funny and depricating) is heretic and should never be spoken by a Trek character. I think it's refreshing, IMO. Anything to erase the visual toxin that is Fan Dancing Uhura.![]()
Oh Christ.Huh? Where do you get that from? Although a date has neven been established for when contact between the Federation and Cardassians has been made, it's always been implied to be between TOS and TNG.
DS9 mentions a Cardassian poet living on Vulcan in the 22nd century.
I've always considered that a continuity anomaly which I've ignored.
Whoa... cardassians? Well guys... that name for an alien species was not very original in the first place... i mean it was derived from italian "Cardaccia" or something like that.
Sound like that by destroying the Kelvin, Nero changed the timeline drastically. Being raised by his uncle instead of George Kirk Sr. lead to Kirk becoming a small town drunk instead of the respected Starfleet officer who was given command of the Enterprise.
