Just how much are we talking here?

About a hundred dollars Canadian. Two-thirds of the price was for the bottle itself, and the remaining third was for shipping by courier.

That's not a bad price. I paid £45 for a bottle of "La Fée" absinthe, which I found to be a little overpowering on the anise flavor.

Speaking of expensive liquor... I just received an email from the company which sold me my absinthe online.

Apparently, they market many other types of alcohol besides absinthe, and they wanted to alert me to the fact that they sell vintage armagnac as well--"the perfect birthday and anniversary gift".

I was thrilled to discover that I can buy a bottle of Vieil Armagnac Veuve J. Goudoulin 1912 for only 595 pounds!

Jesus Christ--eleven hundred dollars for a bottle of brandy. I think these people have the wrong idea about me.

We bought this yesterday from World Market--a micro-suede storage bench to put at the end of the bed. I wanted a place to store quilts and pillows, and hubby wanted someplace to sit and tie his shoes.

Well my "little sister" got an A on her project so I took her to Barnes and Noble so she could pick out any book she wanted. She got the third book in the "Twilight" series which I guess is going to be a new movie in November. She also got me to buy the first paperback for myself because she really wanted me to read it too. Hey, whatever gets her reading - besides, I'm curious to see what the hype is about.

Before the bookstore excursion I went for a nice, relaxing facial. :)

On the large side we bought a new yard, or more precisely, a complete landscaping redo. I'll post some in process pics at some point.

We're also spending some company money to redo out home office space. It's a mess ans it's time to organize.

On the small side, a birthday present for a party my son attended, and lunch.(Greek today)

Tell him to balance on one leg and hop around like the rest of us!

It's been a steady favourite with me for a long time too. Cooking it however is beyond me... far too many spices to acquire, and way too long a preparation and cooking time. Thankfully, a place nearby does lovely portions on the cheap ($6 per one person serving may not be considered cheap in the states tho?).
