Rocky Horror Picture show.. should I go tonight?

Whatss the deal. I'm a guy.. how do I dress?

How do you want to dress? There's dozens of characters to choose from. If you're not feeling that adventurous (which I would definitely not be), just pick somebody like the Criminologist, all he basically wears is a normal suit.

Or just make something up. Lots of 'em probably do that. Trust me, I worked at a theater when this film came around one midnight. (Not an experience I'd care to repeat, really. :p )

However you like. Don't dream it, be it.

You could always go as Eddie:

very very odd experience. I guess its a tradition. I don't understand the movie, but it was still fun.
more soon

No one understands the movie the first couple of times, esxpecially if you see it at the theatre with audience participation. It's not really necessary, anyways. The oddity is what's important and that you tried something "different" Good for you, Tulin.

I do have a question of my own: Are there 'primers' for how to do the audience participation? If I ever did this, I'd want to know what to do in advance. Seems it'd be more fun that way. (Besides, I'm not much for public humiliation; I'd hate to have my "cherry popped". )

Thanks! People tell me that I should go. i'm all for losing inhibitions, and it was good to have a night where even I could do that. But the movie still made little sense but Time Warp was cool!

It's very simple. Richard O'Brien wanted to show that you could too make a musical comedy of anything. So he made one about murder, incest, aliens, cannibalism, transvestism and homosexuality. And he threw in some aliens, rayguns and a Frankenstein monster to keep it from getting too frothy.

I've always enjoyed it even though I've only seen it like three times in the theater.

Personally though I've always thought it kinda goes downhill right after 'Sweet Transvestite'. In any case, its more about the audience than the movie.

I haven't done Rocky Horror in years.. Had a lot of fun doing it in high school and college, but then the one little old theater that showed it around here shut down.. Now it's shown occassionally on special occassions, but I think it's run its course with me..

I tried watching it once without audience participation and was bored out of my mind.. It is such a BAD BAD BAD movie by itself...

Favorite memory was going to a show with my semi-girlfried at the time and her very young brother who had never seen it.. We sacrificed him..... He had just turned 13.. Must have blown his mind...

I ended up going to a friends house who has a 100+ inch projection tv and she showed it and Nightmare on blu-ray
