FINALLY! Angels & Demons teaser trailer

Very cool! I look forward to it.

By the way, when is Dan Brown's next book coming out? I first heard about it years ago.

I saw this when I went to see Quantum Of Solace. I heard someone behind me exclaim "There's another Da Vinci Code?"

^Or at least pay more attention.

I haven't read anything by Dan Brown and only half watched the Da Vinci Code so this soming out doesn't really excite me that much.

I agree people should read more but I wouldn't recommend Dan Brown. I read TDVC and was profoundly unimpressed.

I haven't read Da Vinci Code, but I have read Angels and Demons, which I've heard is the better of the two, and I was unimpressed with it. I like short chapters, but he seems two write for people with ADD.

Him and James Patterson. Talk about short chapters...
When I say I like short chapters, I mean a length where you can have a bit of a read, and have a natural stopping point, like maybe 10-15 page chapters. I seem to read quicker when I know I have a natural point to stop at within reach.

The writing left something to be desired, but I was somewhat impressed with his research. Aside from the specific historical plot, the examinations of the history of religion were very accurate to some of the best research into theism. Quite a lot, actually echoed from some of the most highly regarded works, such as Lewis Brown's This Believing World (which, i should mention, falls apart considerably when examining religions closer to the author's beliefs). I know many otherwise well-educated (mostly in Philosophy and the sciences) persons who encountered this material for the first time through The Da Vinci Code.

I've been curious to see something on this film. As of now its a film that is in limbo for me. Not on my "must see" nor on my "pass" list for summer 09. This teaser didn't do much to sway me one way or the other. I await the first full trailer.

I thought TDC was a good movie if flawed in places. Its flaws were likely compounded by the fact I read the book 1 week prior to the film. All the hype got me curious and I don't have that sense with A&D and doubt it will get any such type hype.

I agree. I get turned off with books that have 30+pgs per chapter.
I like the pg numbers per chapter to be in that 10-20pgs area myself.

I really don't undertsnd that. Good writing is good wiriting no matter how long a chapter is.

Yeah, that is true. But in general I find it easier to read books with shortish chapters. As I said, I like a natural stopping point, which chapters provide, so long chapters can sometimes feel like a chore when you're just wanting to put the book down for the night.

I'm with Bob, again. What bit of OCD may be in me likes natural stopping points which a chapter break provides. I'm fairly busy and don't often have time or energy to commit to 1-2hr reading sessions. It may take me a week or two to read a book that some may finish in a day or two due to available time/energy.
Our point isn't that the writing is made better or seems better due to chapter length, its that its more accomodating.

People should really read more.
I dunno. I agree with my father to a point that fiction is stupid. He devours technical books and the like with ease as well as anything of historical context. My reading consists of technical articles and whatever is school related (i.e. history books, Philosophy).

That looks like its going to be really sweet...I wonder how they're going to incorperate this into The Da Vinci Code seeing as how Angels and Demons takes place a year before it in book'verse. Didn't really like The DaVinci Code film but am really looking forward to this.

^It shouldn't be much of a problem as the two books are only very loosely connected.

I'm kind of looking forward to this one. I liked Angels and Demons and casting Ewan McGregor as the Camerlengo was a good call.

I enjoyed the book and I'll go to see the film. Of Dan Brown's 4 books, I've enjoyed 3 of them. They aren't great literature, but the stories are interesting enough. I know it might sound like a silly comment, but the trailer looked exactly as I'd imagined the book when reading it. Sometimes that isn't the case.

I thought Angels & Demons was a lot better than The Da Vinci Code, so I hope the same happens with the movies. Though I thought the DVC movie was decent, and improved upon the book in some areas.
