The recapper for the TWOP Mad Men section called it "borderline rape" in his recaplet.
I guess once you have sex with a guy consensually, he owns your body. Funny--his description of it as "borderline" disappeared after a few dozen pissed off responses to his opinion in the episode comments section appeared. 
Is it borderline if you're in a relationship, or is it borderline if he doesn't break your arm in the process and give you bruises? Sheesh.I like the recap they post on Collegehumor.com
I knew that I recognized the "Original Mrs Draper" but I could not remember from where. It turns out she played one of Dr Phlox's wives on Enterprise!!!
That's right. She was the one who was coming on to Trip. Nice taste. 
We're all in agreement then. Joan's fiance needs to be thrown over the balcony to his death like Trudy's dinner.
Fascinating episode. It makes a great deal of sense that there would be someone that Dick Whitman could be himself around, and knows his past. The burden of his secret, and his discipline in keeping it, would seem too weighty to do by himself. And when he is himself, it turns out, he is a completely loose and likable character; nothing like the Don we see who has alternating facial expressions of sternness and mild pained indigestion. It was also of interest to know that it isn't completely by his own choice that he can't (I paraphrase) "claw himself back into his life", but finds himself outside of it due to something he can't quite control - a defect of his character.
Peggy. At this rate she will find herself on top with everyone standing around scratching their heads as how she got there. But bringing in the Popsicle account and the accompanying pitch, proves she's a natural.
I laughed when the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still - the remake which stars Hamm and is coming out in a month or so - popped up on Pete's television. Nice little plug there.

Liked this episode much better than last week's. I thought Don going off with the hippies and blowing off work altogether was too much--I didn't see his character doing something like that. Now seeing he has someone he wanted to see--Anna Draper--it makes a little more sense. I still don't love last week's ep, but I did enjoy this one.
Poor Joan.
Her fiance really is a pig. Clearly he can't handle the fact that he's with a woman who has sexual desires...and experience. He had to get her into a situation where she wasn't comfortable so he could exert control over her. 
Disgusting. I doubt she'll kick him to the curb as he deserves because a) Joan is a woman who very much wants to get married, in large part I think because she gets pigeon-holed and doesn't get offered the opportunities even some other women, like Peggy, do (I felt so bad for her after reading the scripts and giving notes was taken away from her) and b) he looks good on the surface and Joan is ambitious.
Betty pushed the other woman into sleeping with the young guy so she could live vicariously. She got the thrill but didn't actually commit the crime. Devious, and a little sad.
I've loved watching Peggy's ascension over the last season. Nice that she now has her own office! The contrast between Joan and Peggy was interesting...on the surface, as Peggy points out, Joan has what every woman wants. Of course, we know at that point it's just an illusion. I also don't think it's what Peggy wants--that office is her dream.
I don't have much to say about the guys; I think the women on the show are much more interesting!

If anyone is interested Jon Hamm is hosting Saturday Night Live this week. That could be interesting.
It's a little too late, but Vincent Cartheiser was on the Bob and Tom show this morning.
It was a couple of days ago, it was a phone interview. They mentioned him on Angel, asked how he got the part of Pete, discussed how Pete is different from everyone else. Everyone on the Bob and Tom show is a huge fan of Mad Men. Of course they had to talk about all the smoking done on the show. According to Cartheiser, if you don't smoke in real life, you don't get to smoke on the show. It seems Matt Wiener can tell if your not doing it right.
Oh, I just read today that there is going to be a Mad Men spoof in this years Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. What Mad Men has to do with Halloween I'll never know. It'll be called "How to Succeed in DEAD-vertising." They'll do a Homer version of the Falling Draper credits too.
Interesting! When does this air? I have not watched the Simpsons in years. I am curious to see if SNL does a Mad Men spoof with Jon Hamm on tonight. SNL is so hit and miss lately. With its humor increasingly lowbrow while Mad Men is so classy and sophisticated. I can't help but think that whatever they do it will be really lame!
Probably next week. I'm pretty sure there is some World Series action on FOX this sunday.

The Mad Men skit was ok. Its clear whomever wrote it is a fan of the show. Clearly inspired by last season's "The Wheel". Complete with Harry crying and running off camera!!! LOL! The jokes about Salvatore being gay were way too forced. I wonder what actor Bryan Batt's reaction will be. No attempt at all was made to mimick his actual performce. Nice surprise to see Elizabeth Moss and John Slattery. I wonder if the rest of the cast felt left out?
"Don Draper's Guide to Dating" was absolutely hillairous!!!! Jon Hamm seems very adept at comedy. Can't remember the name of the actor he played in the Vincet Price sketch but he was the funniest one.

I couldn't find the "Jon Hamm's John Ham" sketch. Basically, it was Jon Hamm promoting a product called "John Ham", which was ham on a toilet paper roll. Get it? "John Ham"? Making fun of his name like that was pretty funny.

I watched most of SNL but I missed those campaign shorts. I thought they did a really smart thing...the only thing getting them ratings nowadays are the political sketches, and they made the majority of the show about politics or Mad Men...two sketches each. The sex offender thing was funny-ish, and the news was good. But the Vincent Price thing was just ok and the Rastafarian thing was awful. I don't get Andy Samberg at all.

It was amazing how much screen time Jon Hamm was given. Sure he was the host but two of the segments were just him on screen with no one else. "Jon Hamm's John Ham" and the political ads.
John Hamm has more versatility than I gave him credit for. Dare I say I was impressed?
