I preordered Destiny part 2 when I ordered book one. I just checked at amazon and I'm not due to get until Nov. 3rd. Thats alright though, I haven't started book one yet still reading Kobayashi Maru. When I'm done with that I will start with book one of Destiny. With any luck I will get done with book two around the time book three arrives.
Just checked with Amazon.com and my copy of Destiny part 2 has been shipped out. Whoo hoo
Mine, too. At this moment, it's sitting at the UPS in Addison, Illinois, ready to load onto a truck for Minnesota. Should have it in my hot little hands by Tuesday.

Mine is coming from Springfield. With any luck I should get mine by Tuesday as well. I have noticed that I always get my orders a little bit earlier then the due date. But it does seem to take forever for USPS or whoever the company who will be delivering the item a long time to actually pick up the item.
Mine came from Tenn and is sitting in my local distribution center in Bklyn.
My copy of Mere Mortals came to Maine from New Jersey and was delivered on Friday.
Its funny, Collision Course was on clearance on Amazon like two weeks ago for $5.99 (hardcover) so I picked it up. Cheaper than the paperback edition.
I haven't been able to find Destiny #2 yet! Guess it's time to go to Amazon...
My copy just arrived tuesday from Amazon. It just seems be easier to order my trek books from them, instead of traveling to the book store, with the price of gas still around $3.00gal.
The Border and Barnes and Noble here in Augusta only carry one shelf each of Star Trek books. ONE SHELF! And when they get the new ones its only about 5 at a time. I gave up trying to shop for Trek books there anymore. Amazon Prime all the way. And I keep getting stuff early. I'm not gonna complain of course, its great. I got both Destiny books at the end of last month about three days apart. And my shipping e-mail indicates book 3 should be here about Monday/Tuesday.
Exactly. ST fans were early adopters of online shopping, and book shops started trimming back in response. Viscious circle.
What really stinks is that less than a year ago, and definitely before then, the books were in great supply here. Literally overnight at my local Borders Star Trek went from a full four foot section (four shelves) to one shelf between the Star Wars and Marvel universe books. I'm hopeful that the new Barnes and Nobles that just opened in our mall will be better (fat chance though right?).
I've said before, bookshops increased the space dedicated to ST books to coincide with increased demand following TMP, ST IV, about the midpoint of TNG's TV run, and again after "First Contact". During quieter times, many shops downsize again.
I expect that many shops will expand their ST section again next May.
By then I probably won't even head to that section as I will be waiting on them to be mailed from Amazon. 'Cause the other thing that stinks is they always get them WEEKS after release. So I end up waiting too long (

You are aware that due to the interplexities of the world economy, there is a major Economic down turn (which started just over a year ago in the United States no less - Although I know the Tiger Economies have been suffering for about a decade now) which has increased in the price of pretty much everything, as a result and I asked a sales assitant in my local Waterstones that they are cutting back on certain lines compared to other lines due to not them not selling as well.
When in London a few weeks ago, I went in a few book shops along Charing Cross Road and compared with last time I was in there (a year ago no less) not only Star Trek books seem less present, so does Star Wars aswell!
Borders is having severe financial problems at present. As a consequence, they've cut back on what they order, which results in less depth on the shelves.
