Supernatural 4x5 "Monster Movie" spoilers and discussion thread

Tonight's episode airs in black and white. Looks to be a hoot from the preview clips. A little break from the dire tone of the season thus far, as Supernatural tends to do. Don't worry, Castiel will be back in a week or two and they'll get all dark and terrifying again.

I missed the first half, tuned in and thought my television was busted. It's black and white but the contrast is off or something, it looks like a color show turned grayscale instead of invoking real black and white atmosphere but a cute attempt nonetheless.

Oh my God, that was priceless. I love it. Right down to the pissed off pizza delivery driver. I was that driver once. A+ I love Edlund.

That was amazing. I wish they could have done two hours and make it a real movie. The Creature from the Black Lagoon and Frankenstein's Monster would have been fun to see as well.

I watched all of these movies on Creature Features here in Chicago when I was a kid. It was fun to see the older take on these monsters again. And the humor...

Dean in liederhozen was a hoot. Why the hell would our monster change Dean't clothes so he was wearing liederhozen? It didn't make sense, but who cares, it was funny.

Well I can certainly understand taking his clothes off.

And in my opinion no, even last weeks was good.

Definitely a change in tone from last week. I guess they wanted a light episode before they go hard core again next week. I was wrong. Most of the TWOP faithful are loving it except for 4 or 5 of the "hard core Dean five" as I like to call them. I think they're too young to enjoy the cheesiness of the old, old black and white horror movies. They thought Dean was presented as "too horny." When isn't Dean horny?

I would have enjoyed an Invisible Man a la Claude Rains moment, but I'll take what I can get. I am so loving this season, and as of right now it has the potential to best season 2 as my favorite.
