It matters to me because they are telling Trek fans one thing and the general audience another.
It didn't matter in 07 with Transformers, and It doesn't matter now with Trek, both of which needed the infusion of fresh ideas to make/keep them viable properties. I for one do not want to see something I love, like Star Trek die because of hang ups on small minutia when all that matters is the spirit of the idea, the story, and the intent of it's creator.
That intent, to show humans working together and with other races to make a better future.. Isn't that what TREK is or am I the one who's wrong here.
My final words on this because I don't need to get a warning on my first day here is that if the set design is such a hang up for you, then you've forgotten what Star Trek is really about. I've pointed you where to go. They quoted an article where PARAMOUNT said this movie is a reboot of the franchise and they are the ones who own it franchise so you have your answer, you need nothing more. I'm sorry this movie isn't for you, but maybe Star Trek is trying to do something it hasn't done for a while. Evolve. I submit that to you humbly and I'm am sorry about getting aggravated with you earlier Matt.
