We are so screwed....
We are so screwed....
Well I think that the bridge is structurally close to the TOS bridge, but the details are different. I think we need to see the a wider shot of the bridge other then just this pic, cause people are blocking out many things.
Perhaps it changes by the end of the movie.
I've never understood how waiting and seeing the same scene in the movie will somehow improve my impression of what I think about that set or any other visual item from the movie.
Nope. Deal me out, I ain't playin'

Are we looking at the same picture!?!structurally close? as in it has walls, floor and a ceiling? And chairs, it has at least three chairs.
It looks more like an operating room. the lights are overly bright and mounted right at eye level where they would be in your face all day. <sarcasm>Yes, this is a great environment!</sarcasm>
Don't be a stickler. This was the Enterprise when she was first launched - there could've been all kinds of upgrades between then and TOS, including a total bridge module swap-out. Give it a chance for what it is, rather then condemn it because its not what you wanted it to be. There's a lot more to a movie than set design anyway. I for one think it could be very cool. The only thing I don't love so much is the plexiglass HUDs or whatever they are, but maybe they'll work out to be cool.Nope. Deal me out, I ain't playin'
If you look closely at the screens in the background, '1701' is clearly visable. And I doubt the Kobayashi Maru simulator would, in this era, be made up to resemble the newly launched, active-duty Enterprise.2.) I'm going to assume that bridge is for the USS Kelvin until proven otherwise.
Well, for one thing, the bridge might look better once we have a better idea how the parts relate to each other.I've never understood how waiting and seeing the same scene in the movie will somehow improve my impression of what I think about that set or any other visual item from the movie.

I've gotta disagree, friend. Its a huge starship with multiple missions and a crew of hundreds, capable of doing amazing things that defy the laws of physics as we understand them today. The control center is going to be a busy place. Nothing about it looks spoofish to me - it all looks very organized and functional, if very sleek and advanced. The bridge is way too busy and over the top, it looks like a caricature, like a spoof.
We're not screwed. This just affirms what I've believed all along. Yes, this is a restart or reboot or whatever the hell anyone wants to call it. Only some familiar names and references remain, but this is difinately not the continuity of TOS. And that's fine as long as they're honest about. And even if they're not--just as they weren't with ENT--then it doesn't change a thing in my book and just reinforces my belief they think fans are imbeciles.Well, lessee....here's the original bridge....

And here's the new and, allegedly, improved one...

Oh, yeah, they're virtually identical.
What flavor Kool-Aid is JJ serving these days?
