Will We Ever See in ST:TNG Literature where...?

Chris those registry letters were awesome! It gave me some ideas

Enterprise FDA- flagship of all the food supplies of the Federation
Enterprise CSI- pretty much self explanatory
Enterprise AWD- can go anywhere any time from the thickest nebula o the brightest pulsar!

perhaps i took it too far but i couldnt waist the opportunity

And you could add more options by combining different letters:

Enterprise-AC: Coolest ship in the fleet.
Enterprise-DA: Attached to the Judge Advocate General's office.
Enterprise-PI: Assists Enterprise-DA.
Enterprise-BC: Attached to Temporal Investigation.
Enterprise-BFF: The crew really sticks together.
Enterprise-RV: The vacation starship.
Enterprise-ADD: Never stays in one place long enough to complete a mission.

Enterprise-FTF: This crew takes the idea of bed buddies a little too far.

I think I touched on Geordi on another thread, but it'd be a much better scenario to see him start to question his career and personal ambitions, not simply decide over the course of one novel he's leaving.
I actually had La Forge doing exactly that in A Time for War, a Time for Peace. Ultimately, he decided to stay as chief engineer of the Big E rather than be Riker's first officer. One of the influences on his decision to stay in the engine room was Scotty (who was on board for an inspection tour) telling him that he was better off in the engine room than in the big chair, citing his own experience being in command in "A Taste of Armageddon" and being given the order to destroy a planet, a responsibility he did not want. La Forge, by contrast, was remembering the events of "The Arsenal of Freedom," and how it was one of the proudest moments of his career.

And I want to read about the adventures of the Enterprise-OMG, where everyone talks in Internet-speak. It'll be teh hawtness!!!!eleventy-one111!!!

Exactly Keith, and I loved that in "ATFW, ATFP".

But what I was saying was that as events continue to unfold I like to see the characters constantly coming back to that. I think sometimes the smaller characters fall off to the side while the focus stays on "The Big Three" or some similar grouping. It was awesome to see Geordi in "ATFW, ATFP" dealing with that, but its like it went away entirely until it came back up in "GTTS". I guess what I'm saying is that in a book you don't have to worry about length (like on film) or budget (like on film), so it seems like a giant waste to not have it revisited every book (not as in beat a dead horse) or at least have Geordi be significant each story.

^ I thought La Forge had a significant supporting role in Q & A, what with his dealing with Data's death and his troubles accepting Kadohata in the android's former role.

I hope to do a story aboard the Enterprise-BS, a ship crewed entirely by politicians and advertising executives.

Or one aboard the Enterprise-FU... and if anyone doesn't like it, screw 'em!!!

Oh, wait until the Enterprise-PWP...

Enterprise-NHS the medical ship.

Enterprise-WTF where they're in wonder at the universe.

Enterprise-DTI working to promote Federation businesses

Enterprise-NSA a cryptography ship.

Enterprise IMO - Goes to prewarp planets and lectures the populace about moral issues.

Enterprise WIKI -spreads info that may or may not be true to any species that will listen.

(hey, Mike!)

Enterprise ABC -goes around the galaxy teaching aliens to speak in English

Enterprise HAL -I'm sorry Jean Luc, I cannot do that

^You do these things just to torment me, don't you?

^ I can haz warp drive now?

Totally off-topic, but the quote of "Enterprise-BFF" above reminds me of something ridiculous I saw today in the TV listings. Apparently there's a reality show on called Paris Hilton's New BFF. Huh? If there's a new best friend forever, that implies there was an old best friend forever, and that's a contradiction in terms.

Not that I expect anything pertaining to Paris Hilton to make sense...

How about a book expanding on the old Starlog cartoon about the Enterprise-Z? "Now be very careful with it, 'cause this is the last one...." :D

Surely, barring Starfleet Regulatory Agency standards and interstellar treaties, they'd just move on to other alphabets?

Take your "Enterprise-Π", for instance...

What, are you implying that one of the fundamental traits of Paris Hilton and her ilk is a sense of false sentimentality?!?!?!
