I cannot stand it when TV shows or movies show sparks flying from a vehicle when it gets shot, especially when there is no bullet damage. Anyone with firearms experience knows that bullets (even jacketed) don't cause anything to spark.

So, how long until they run out of clever ways to incorporate "Knight" into the title of each episode?
Based on the titles of the original series' episodes, never.![]()

Agreed. However, just having them have zero impact at all visually doesn't really lend itself to a visual medium (and frankly, is dull). That's why I suggested reusing the effect from the 2 hr movie where KITT's skin "cracked" and absorbed the bullet's energy then "healed".
Hell, KITT barely even seems to get dirty in this new show.![]()

Then why watch a show about a talking car that can morph into other cars...?
^ I thought pretty much the same thing. I wonder if he can still morph into other colored vehicles?

yeah it sucks they have to play it so safe even resorting to using green screen driving sequences.

I'm also disappointed that we haven't seen KITT driving himself that much. That would really do a lot to make him seem like a real character, instead of just a really advanced GPS like he seems to be now.

Michael Sr. did most of the driving in the original series.

KITT mostly seemed to drive when they were crusing. When in a chase or something, yeah, Michael's hands were on the wheel but they were also in "Pursuit" mode. A drive mode KITT has that augments Michael's driving with KITT's processors to make him able to better control and handle the car at high speeds and in tight turns.
I'm guessing in this series Mike is driving in a similar type of mode in chases.
There were tons of moments where KITT drove himself on the old show. Most of them were really brief, like KITT driving up to meet Michael at an entrance or coming to the rescue (hence the famous "KITT, I need you" line), but they were still cool as hell. I never got tired of that little dashboard startup sequence we saw in nearly every episode.

I forgot, we did see the new KITT driving himself at the start of the premiere, although somehow it wasn't nearly as magical. Not sure if it was the car, or the fact the novelty has just worn off...
