Jim Carey's "Yes Man" - "Liar, Liar" rehash?

Jim Carey's new movie has him starring as a guy who ends up saying "yes" to everything. After looking at the previews this just seems like a rip off of his previous movie, "Liar, Liar" where he ends up telling the truth all the time.

I guess he needed the money because this movie looks like crap.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is fairly well regarded... Not my kind of flick, but a lot of people seem to like it.

Last time he was in a good out and out comedy though? Man, ya' got me...

The last movie I saw him in was The Number 23 which was absolutely dreadful.

You all say he's in it for the money but according to industry sources he took no pay upfront for the film and will only get money if it makes a rather hefty profit. Interesting twist from a guy that once commanded 20M a pic.

This is the movie based on the book by Danny Wallace, I assume ?

The book is non-fiction. Wallace's books typically based on similar social experiments like challenging his friend Dave Gorman to find all of the other Dave Gormans in the world or starting his own country.

hehehe, he has to have a teenage daughter, and she has to ask "Daddy, can i get some fishnets and that leather mini skirt for my date?"

I thought it looked okay. Pretty standard plot, loser is life goes positive and changes life.

I actually didn't think Carrey was bad in The Number 23, he does creepy, obsessive, imbalanced rather well

Well as long as it brings a smile to my face I'm sold, i can give Carrey a lot of leeway just because i like him and his zany movies.....as for a non zany pulling silly faces falling over the furniture movies, i thought he did quite a good job with man in the moon.

I'm still waiting for AV3.
