I read it too, it's very dull for the most part, and when read on its own, but there are a few glowing moments, and it's quite interesting with footnotes. Who Wrote the Bible by Richard E. Friedman is an interesting read.
Shameless, I've always found a change of scenery can really help bring new perspective and open your eyes to things you might not be seeing because of the stress you're currently under. Perhaps moving would really help you.
