  • Spring 2009: Stargate: The Ark of Truth (Sunday Movie Event)
  • Late Spring 2009: Stargate: Continuum (Sunday Movie Event)
  • Summer 2009: Premiere of Stargate Universe (first 10 episodes)
  • Fall 2009: Stargate Atlantis movie, to fill in the mid-season hiatus of Stargate Universe
  • January 2010: Return of the second half of Season One of Stargate Universe
Talk of a third SG-1 movie for the direct-to-video format has been around for quite some time, but Thomas Vitale, senior VP of programming and original movies at Sci Fi, said, “We’re very interested in partnering with MGM to do additional SG-1 movies as well, and we’re talking about it.” No official word has been released that the future SG-1 movies will be first aired on Sci Fi before being committed to DVD as the first Atlantis movie is currently set to do.

I'm sure SGU will get plenty of ad time during the SG1 movie.

If you haven't seen Ark it is horrible, however Continuum is pointless fun.I think they should have shown the SG-1 movies a lot sooner, Ark this year, Continuum early next. When is the series finale of Atlantis anyways?

December 18, 2008 its called Enemy at the gate.

The episode before it sounds bad:rolleyes: its called Vegas and it involves Sheppard and Woosley being a Detective and FBI agent in Vegas investigating a death of wraith.

Enemy at the gate sounds good for an season finale, SG-A deserves a 6th, this season has been one of the most consistant yet. SCI FI are gambling with the huge break for SG:U and really need to start airing SG shows within a calendar year like SG-A 5th.

They're holding the Atlantis movie hostage until Universe' mid season break? :wtf:

#@%$&# !!!! Sneaky Skiffy....:scream:

I feel that the fisrt season and second season were the best. 3 was falling an dfour was plain horrible. I think 5 is doing a great job but its not "consistant"

I thought the Vegas episode was actually episode 19, but filmed as episode 20. And, since it was actually filmed in Vegas (outside of Vancouver), I'm not about to complain. Anything outside of the usual sites will please my eyes.

Huh?? Given how long we had to wait for the two SG1 movies this seems like a rush job.
The SG-1 movies were shot before S4 of Atlantis (possibly overlapping with some Carter-light episodes at the front?), and just took forever to come out.

They have to film the movie first.

Atlantis series finale sounds bad, it's the 100th episode, have a good time, but stop making stupid 100th episodes.

It was the post production on the movies that took so much time getting them out.

The impression I got from Joe Mallozzi's blog is that MGM was more or less sitting on them for a while after they were finished. *shrug*

Yeah MGM sat on them for a while but post production also slowed down the release of the movies.

GW: Your shooting schedule is usually late February to early October. And then for the two movies last year, they didn't come for almost a year after they had been shot. Is that going to be typical, do you think?

BW: Well, Continuum was ready a lot sooner. We finished the film, but our in-house visual effects department was devoting its energy still to The Ark of Truth. So it basically sat on the shelf waiting for the opportunity to go through the post-production process, rather than hiring a whole new, second group -- knowing that there was going to be a significant window between the two releases anyway.

Ark of Truth wasn't a year -- it was less than a year. Continuum was, because of that wait.

I thought the original announcement had the ATL movie running late spring-and before Universe debuted, which meant that filming would take take later this fall.

It should be before Universe (I hate that name). Maybe Sci-fi wants to see how Universe does first so if it sucks and the Atlantis movie does well Atlantis will come back for another season.
