Tampa Bay defeats Green Bay. I must admit that stings pretty badly. We needed a pick-me-up after Dallas took us down on our home turf. Atlanta is next for us. Which is great since they often make the other teams look good. :p

I got to watch the endings of five games today just on my local channels. Fun stuff. Um... Chicago looks really good tonight. I think the offense is working out some of its kinks.

Yeah... I take that back. They're still not a second half team.

i have a question for someone who actually watched the broncos game.
how did culters first interception happen.

spider spider.. what happened to the moo cows owning the jags.
let me down :(

the oilers/titans are 4-0 for the first time in the history of the franchise.

an amused to see the jets wearing the old titan uniforms/.

He tried to pass to Marshall, and the Chief just kinda stepped in front if it half way between Cutler and Marshall... they figured out Cutler will go to no one but Marshall, even if he has 20 people on him, so they go ahead and put the entire backfield on him.

What happened? The Texans suck. Any other team would've kicked the Jaguars' ass. We look horrible. We are so dead this Sunday.

Suck? I'd hardly say that. From the looks of things, the stats and the reports, the Texans bascially shut down Jacksonville's running game. That's the Jags' bread-n-butter.

Ok, well, I'll be a bit more clear.

Our offensive line was ravaged by last-minute injuries (and a shooting) in the week before Week 1 (Jags/Titans). Without the OL, we have no running game at all. As usual, our wide recievers are hit and miss, though Matt Jones is finally becoming the go-to guy he should've been three years ago. The offense is patched together, and if we could get the running game going, we'd be ok.

However, the defense has been atrocious this year, and there's simply no excuse for it. We focused almost exclusively on repairing the defense in the offseason, and obviously blew it, since the defense has not managed to stop the other team in any game this year. They simply let the opposing team run right through us. We'd be 0-4 if not for a brilliant (literally) last-minute drive by Garrard and a FG by Scobee at Indy, and we would've won in regulation against Houston if the defense could have stopped their last-minute drive. With the amount of effort we put into rebuilding the defense, the problems they're having now are just....frustrating. So yes, I do think our defense sucks.

Okay, I gotcha now. Yeah... Jacksonville has had a couple of charmed victories there. Scobee may just get the rep for being a good kicker under pressure. Haven't both wins this season come with FG's in overtime?

I got 2 points in the pick'em. :guffaw:

Eagles need Westbrook, clearly. I also don't know what was up with Akers yesterday - he makes one of those two FGs and they win.

Ouch, mimic.

The Indy win was a FG with 0:04 left in the game, capping off a 1:03 drive. The Houston win was in overtime. Scobee is probably the most-improved player that the Jaguars have ever had. I remember when he was missing 25-yard field goals as often as not. And now he's one of our best guys. :D

Buckhalter looked pretty good himself, until he got hurt. I am no Eagles fan, but I don't hold anything against them either. Put Westbrook in there, and I wonder if the result of the game is different.

But hey... as I recall mimic, we're in the same sinking boat. My pick'em score pretty much sucks more than a Kirby.

BTW... excellent avatar, with Dr. Who and Jon Stewart.

Well, Linehan is gone.

I've always thought he was a decent, hard working guy. I bear him no ill will. And I really don't know how much getting rid of him is going to help the team.

But the numbers don't lie. The Rams have been terrible for a long time.

Jim Haslett is in as an interim coach. I don't know how long that will last. Our defense sucks pretty mightily too.

I'm gunning for the office pool...with the 12 games in the bag so far, I am 11-1...best week ever..Monday night football will decide it all and I got the steelers...even if I lost, 11-2 is still pretty good...$500 is in the pot!!!

Akers hasn't been doing all that well the last two seasons. Sadly, he did best when Coy Detmer was his holder (unfortunately, Detmer couldn't actually pass the ball, so it wasn't worth having him). I used to be confident with every kick, now I'm not really confident with any.

Hey man, have some faith in our team.

Remember last year, when we brought in a new OC? Our offense didn't look so hot at the beginning of the year. In fact, it regressed. But eventually it all meshed together to build a good offense.

That's the problem with our defense right now. The players are adjusting to new systems and schemes. You do also realize that Reggie Nelson and Rashean Mathis were out, and Justin Durant? In the first half they were doing reasonably well, but then Mathis went out and James came in. Who did Schaub attack? That's right, James, and he also picked on the backup FS, Gerald Sensabaugh. Really, there is only so much one defense can do with injuries and trying to readjust to new schemes and coaching.

As for the offense, the run is still struggling, but look at the positive here. The WR's actually made an effort, Jerry Porter is back, and David Garrard seems to have shaken off the woes of the early two games and gotten back to form.

Yay! I'm not dead last any more after missing a week due to being in Europe and internet-lacking. :D

Anyhow, I swear I picked the Bears in the pick'em and my other pool. Apparently I am smoking crack and actually picked Philadelphia in both of them. Argh. :scream:
