Good luck. The writers are one trick ponies so far; save the future this way. Save the future that way. Give Hiro a cute adventure. I wish they'd concentrate on Nathan's capacity to ride roughshod over his loved ones, but I'm not holding my breath that they'll do it justice.

Well, we are watching what is basically a comic book.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

Im actually quite leery of this Saint Nathan storyline. and just how that politician guy with faux-Niki is going to fit in.

I have this really sick feeling that theyll try some horrid scenario like Nathan literally thinks of himself as an angel(b/c he can fly you know) & Mr Politico (I read somewhere that the character is supposed to be an evangelical type) props him up as a "miracle" to get the religious to vote his way. Ugh I hope Im wrong.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

Why? His only confirmed power is flight. If he's essentially going to be Angel from the X-Men, makes more sense to actually go down that storyline than to just ignore it completely.

That's mean and oblique. There are some comics out there that will fuck you up.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

That and most comics actually have action scenes that last longer than the blink of an eye. :)

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

Longest fight scene I've ever heard of, not that I'm a fan, but hearing them anime monkeys talk about it was cute, was "ten years" in Dragonball or one of it's spinoffs when these two immortal invincible gods just started hammering each other, so for the next ten years (our time) their fight would just glance across the periphery or get thrown through a wall of the main story telling of the weekly cartoon. I mean fuck me, but that's a level of commitment to continuity and plotting you just don't see everyday.

Finding out that Claire and Sylar are related is like finding out Vader was Leia's pappy after he ordered that Torture droid to extract information from her.

You are watching Heroes for the wrong reason if you watch it for the action. The show is about the plot and characters. Heroes only has a few cool scenes of action every once in a while. But when the show does have them it's awesome like in season one when Peter jumped off a building with Claude and flew away to escape from Noah or this season with Sylar pwning those agents on camera.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

I'm aware of what the show is. I've been watching it since it's inception. No need to get holier-than-thou on me, especially since I was replying to the "well, we are watching what is basically a comic book" line of thought.

And the scenes you mentioned are pretty much exactly what I was referring to; blink-of-the-eye action. Nothing like a real brawl between Peter and Sylar; the closest we got was in Five Years Gone where we got to see some glowy hands and flashy lights under a door for a few minutes.

Which probably cost a couple million dollars.

SFX budgets are gold digging whores.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

well, I think they are doing a good job with the show. I just want to be entertained - i'm not looking for high art.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

Nathan could get naked more often. That would entertain me. He was rocking those pajama bottoms in season one. Nice to see a man who doesn't shave his chest.

Maybe they could get a decent looking brunette on that show...

Nathan might be able to convince people of the whole God thing if he were to fly.

Re: HEROES 3x01 "Second Coming" and 3x02 "Butterfly Effect" Discuss/Gr

Which is precisely what Peter didn't want him to do. Of course, if Nathan only reveals this information about himself.....there's an interesting can of worms. I think the Nathan finds God story is potentially fascinating, but I worry the writers aren't up to it.

this is what Im getting at. Im also trying to make sense of that whole weird scene in the church & Nathan's talk to Peter about them being angels sent to save everyone...

yeah, thing is I dont buy Nathan suddenly acting this way, sure he came back from the dead twice, but he's also been running around with superpowered people & seen a lot of "miraculous stuff" for a while now. I dont buy the "we must be angels/God thing" coming from him. Maybe Peter or Hiro, but not Nathan...

Yeah... the producers seem to have an obsession with casting blondes. What's up with that?

Don't know, but Kristin Bell is a pretty good looking blonde, eh? Hey, Maya's a brunette.

I guess she might be considered good looking to some people but I don't find her attractive in the least with her sunken beady eyes, angular features and paper thin lips.

zenophite either hates all blondes or has exteremly high standards in women. I remember Zenophite saying Reese Witherspoon was ugly in the Prince of Persia topic.;)
