Borg Baby

Renvar

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
See my avatar for who I'm referencing; also the episode "Collective" is where she makes her debut. Her only real use in the story was to make Janeway (and the audience) feel guilty about considering to use the pathogen. They pretty much forget about her after that. You think Seven cared for the infant as she did the other children?

Considering how emotionally stunted Seven was, I'm sometimes surprised if she could feel anything at all. The Borg really messed her up... :borg:

No.

I always assumed because the baby was a new born, it was recently assimilated. So it's home world must have been somewhere close by.

I just figured Voyager returned it to it's home planet.

Flawed logic. They are capable of Transwarp drive. For all we know, the baby's home planet is in the Gamma Quadrant.

There was a line written for the episode where the twin boys were returned home (and Mezotti went with them), whereby the Borg baby was also being sent to that planet, but they figured it had been so long since we'd seen the Borg baby, a lot of viewers may have been confused as to where it had come from. So the line was dropped.

I've always been of the opinion that the Borg Baby was put in the same forgotten drawer as the real Voyager finale.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Unfortuntately there was that virus Icheb creates that stopped them dead in their tracks. So I doubt they travelled that far, especially considering all the rest of the kids were from the Delta Quaderant as well.

There may not have been a world to go back to - they probably didn't farm every culture
I did consider that too.

However, seeing how some Elurains did escape a Borg attack, as did some of Ichebs race. I also figured when it comes to assimilating an entire planet, the Borg aren't absolute. Some survivors of that baby's race must still be alive somewhere in the Quad. So my next out the box conclusion was that Voyager scanned for surviving life readings of that race.

It's too bad that they never resolved this issue, but I'm glad that this didn't wind up becoming yet another thing to do with Seven of Nine that would result in no real charater development.
