Yeah that's really cool actually, never really thought about it that wayCordy is the new Goddess-in-the-flesh, the new cult of personality in LA. She's worshipped, loved by all. If you look at her character arc, even from the beginning of Buffy, to season 4 of Angel- -it's a brilliant piece of 'be careful what you wish for.' She finally gets to be the Most Famous Person Ever- -but it's done while her body is being used by a Power-That-Was, and it's being done after she's given up and grown past that urge and has thrown herself solely into helping others.
btw...
Speaking for Cordelia, she returns again in the latest issue, to help Angel as he hangs on the balance of life and death. Although its yet to be determined if it really is her or a Wolfram & Hart manifestation, but given her not knowing about Wes's Shanshu vision from the Senior Partners it seems to be her
Oooh! oooh!
The whole "IT HAS BEEN WITNESSED" vision of Angel, a vampire again, leading an army of darkness against the world- -that Angel(us?) has now, the game is set, he's on the bad guy side of the apocalypse? The common speculation is that it's what happens after Angel, who's now human, is turned into a vampire again, by the now-vampire Gunn. Liam was turned to Angelus and he reacted as a way of 'crystalizing' his personality traits, as a good-for-nothing wastrel with his head in the clouds- -he became 'someone,' the most dangerous and vicious vampire on record. His re-ensoulment eventually led him to character growth, and he did become 'someone' again, this time as a big heroic champion of the helpless. So if he's turned, with the mentality of this big hero? I don't think we're going to see the same old Angelus, about sadistic personal torture, only going through the 'destroy the world' routine because it would be the ultimate failure for his Slayer target- -no no no, a 'NuAngelus' would be all about the antithesis of Angel's fight. Suffering and horror to millions, not for enjoyment, for chaos and destruction of all that is holy. Not desecration. He'd be in it for the Big Game, just like Angel is...in short, he'd do exactly what was depicted in that vision.
Of course, my gut instinct says this is all a throw-away bit as it doesn't quite fit the prophecy...
