A Lt. Cmdr on the Enterprise in TUC?

Cicero

Behind Chekhov in this screencap is a Starfleet officer of East Asian descent who appears to be a science division lieutenant commander (other parts of the movie seem to confirm this rank). She appears in several scenes on the bridge (including the interrogation of Valeris), but is always in the background and speaks no lines. Memory Alpa doesn't list her among the Enterprise-A crew (not even among the unnamed crew). Does anyone know anything about her?

Is she the same Asian woman who sits at the helm after Valeris is tossed in the brig? I remember her being there at the beginning of the battle, but she pretty much vanishes once the equipment falls out of the ceiling dome (maybe it hit her on the head?).

Yes. She only seems to have replaced her briefly, though, as an enlisted crewman appears at the helm during Chang's first attack, and the station is empty when next we see it (and remains so).

Edit: Given that the entire command staff beamed down to Khitomer, she might conceivably have been left in command aboard the Enterprise. Of course, the bridge was empty when they got back, so who knows . . .

I was just sitting here wondering about that other woman in the screencap....what an interesting alien species she must be, one where the nipples are inverted!

Umm. Good spotting. I think.

(You do know that inverted nipples are far from uncommon in H.sapiens?)

She kind of looks like the same woman who was on both the Grissom and Excelsior in TSFS.

She's also there cheering the crew to speak Klingon. Maybe she is the ship's regular communications officer?
Actually, she was trying to get them to laugh with the Klingon, but I shouldn't nit pick on a Star Trek message board. :)

I bet she was the same officer in Star Trek III...just not credited...kind of like in addition to Star Trek V, Klaa was in Star Trek VI but not credited. However, if she was on the Grissom, she died and couldn't be in Star Trek VI. Unless, of course, Krudge beamed her over just before Grissomwas destroied, and then Kirk and Company found her when they took over the bird of prey, and brought her back to Earth, and then eventually found assignment on the Enterprise-A.

Hey...it could happen.
